Leadership #20 Passive Faith: Foundation of Our Salvation October 1, 1994 Heavenly Father, we’re grateful for Your Presence tonight, we know that You are here, Lord, in the form of the Holy Spirit in the Pillar of Fire, and You’re leading a Bride into the Millennium. We don’t see You, but we know we don’t have to see You, having already seen Your picture here. As Bro. Branham said, “A repeat, as upon Mount Sinai,” and we thank You for that, Lord. We also thank You that You’ve proven Who You are, and therefore, we know Who You are, and particularly since You’ve vindicated one Book, to which this person, Bro. Branham, our prophet, went continuously, proving, Lord, that this Word is one hundred percent infallible, and It is of You. All It needs is the infallible Author, with the infallible interpretation, to come to us, and give us by His prophet, that revelation for this hour, and we enter into this perfect relationship with You, for which we’re very, very grateful. We thank You for that, Lord, knowing perfection has come, and this is the hour of completion, the hour of Going Away, it’s the hour of death for the world—the second death, but it’s the hour of Resurrection for us. As it were, they enter into a second death, we enter into, as it were, a second life, which is marvelous to know. This same life here is going to be glorified with You in the Millennium and further on, and their second death, of course, means they’ll come up in a body commensurate with what they must endure in the Lake of Fire, whatever is set before them. So, we thank You for that, Lord, understanding the principles of truth that have guided us all these years because You have set them in order, and we believe them, and therefore we go by the revelation of Your Word, and we thank You for It. Help us tonight to continue. In Jesus’ Name, we pray. Amen. You may be seated. 1. Now we’re, I believe, in number twenty of “Leadership”, and as we continue our studies in this message, we must not fail to remember that this sermon on “Leadership” is only one of all the subjects that he covered, relative to his own statements, the first of which was, “My ministry is to declare that He is here,” “The same Pillar of Fire that brought the Word to Paul is here revealing It,” “Headship is here,” “As justification gave way to sanctification, and sanctification gave way to the baptism with the Holy Ghost, the baptism with the Holy Ghost gives way to the Holy Spirit Himself,” “Now the Holy Spirit Himself is here,” and he talks about it in the entirety, totality. Again: “When God went down to Egypt with Moses, He not only appeared in signs and wonders, but He Himself appeared in a Pillar of Fire upon Mount Sinai, so today, and we have His picture to prove it.” Now this message here in content and in dedication to what he really was sent here to bring to the world, particularly to the Bride, and then, of course, in judgment to the world, is just one of just about every single sermon that the man preached. I would say every one. This is why Bro. Branham chose this closing message about the rich, young businessman, appearing before God, Who was veiled, yet manifested in human flesh. 2. Now, that’s something that you have to understand: that God was veiled, and yet manifested in human flesh. Many people simply reject that, and yet on the same basis they accept without fear that they have the baptism with the Holy Ghost, and they can say, “I know God is in my heart.” Every time I pick up a paper in the world, you’ll find people that are absolute sinners, they’re not in the realm of redemption whatsoever. If they come up in the Second Resurrection as foolish virgin, that’s fine by me, but what I read in the papers, you’ll find these people saying, “God in my heart, God in my heart.” God is no more in their heart than nothing. They make a claim that is absolutely void of substantiation under any consideration whatsoever. Their lives show it, and above all their tongues show it, because ‘by your word you’re either justified or condemned.’ Now, that’s the Bible, so we stay with It. 3. So, the people do not like to take terms such as we give here, brought specifically from Bro. Branham—God veiled, yet manifested in human flesh. And yet we know that’s the actual case of Moses and Paul and the prophets that were vindicated. It was happening again in 1965 as the businessmen—that is, God veiled, yet manifested, in human flesh—it was happening again in 1965 as the businessmen turned from the vindicated God and chose the leadership of church dogma, creeds and traditions (That’s these leaders, these businessmen now.) and by that very move, became usurping… (You understand what I said?) ...usurping...they usurped an authority. They said, “The ministry has failed.” Well, I’ve got Ephesians 4. I want to find it. But I can take you to Acts 20 and show you it did not come from a five-fold ministry, and we’ll read it before the night is over. But they said the five-fold ministry has not done its job. Yes, because of slobs like them! I’m a tough preacher, and I hang tough, and I care less. If I’m judged for it, I’m judged for it. But I can tell a dog from a bone, and I know dogs gnaw on bones. The Bible speaks in the last day, “Beware of dogs”—male prostitutes—prostitutes under religion and organization. Can you think of anything filthier? It turns my stomach. Let me read it again: “It was happening again in December of 1965, as the businessmen turned from the vindicated God and chose the leadership of church dogma, creeds and traditions, which they did, and by that became usurping, blind leaders of the blind, going back to Rome from whence they evidently came.” 4. And now we go to Acts 20, which I said I’d read for you. (17) ...And (Paul called all the elders together—verse 17) from Miletus he sent to Ephesus, and called all the elders of the church. Now, of course, I have no doubt that there were five-fold ministers there, too, but this is referring to the elders. And he says down here in verse 26: (26) Wherefore I take you to record this day, that I am pure from the blood of all men. (“I am pure from the blood of all”—everybody. The word ‘men’ is interpolated.) (27) For I have not shunned to declare unto you all the counsel of God. (“Everything that God told me, everything that’s God has got for you—you got from me. I gave it to you.”) (28) Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over which the Holy Ghost has made you overseers, (Remember: ‘elders’ are ‘overseers’.) to feed the church of God, which he purchased with his own blood. (29) For this I know, after my departing shall grievous wolves enter among you, not sparing the flock. (30) And of your own selves shall men arise, speaking perverse things, and draw away disciples after them. (31) Therefore watch, and remember, that by the space of three years I ceased not to warn every one of you night and day with tears. (And Bro. Branham said, “They organized always within three years.” Right? There’s your Bible for it. So, all right.) 5. With that, we go to 2 Corinthians 11, which we’ve gone into literally hundreds of times, and know exactly what we’re going to read. And Paul in there says concerning, this is the law of jealousy, that the wife has been fooling around behind her husband’s back, messing with other men: (1) Would to God you would bear with me in my folly: indeed bear with me (2) For I am jealous over you with godly jealousy: I have espoused you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to Christ. (3) But I fear, lest by any means, as the serpent beguiled Eve through his subtilty, so your minds should be corrupted from the simplicity which is in Christ. (4) For he that cometh preaches another Jesus, (So, you’ve got two Jesus’ there now.) whom we have not preached, or receive another spirit, (Now you’ve got two spirits.) which you’ve not received, another gospel... There you are; you’ve got two gospels. I suppose before you put it all on record, you might have more than two—two and two. But you can see in there that this is a condition that came with the first age, and it must come to harvest at some particular time. And that particular time can only be when the Jews, or Israel, are back in the homeland, because God can only deal with them in that homeland. And when they’re there, Paul distinctly says, Romans 11, that that’s the time of the Resurrection. And, remember, the Jews are blind—they’re not dead. He said, “Blindness in part has happened to Israel.” And when you talk about a Resurrection, you don’t talk about a blind man rising from the dead. Right? Christ already rose. So, at the time of Israel and Palestine, it’s time for the Resurrection. So, out of this very time then everything sown in the first age must absolutely come to pass in the last age. So, there’ll be an abundant harvest, a great crop of sinners. And the sinners outnumbering the Saints to the percentage: eight amongst five and a half billion...roughly got five and a half billion right now. I’m not saying, “Eight people are going to make the ark.” I look at it percentage, especially on the grounds Bro. Branham likened the same thing to Elijah, where seven thousand had not bowed the knee. All right. 6. That young man had the opportunity to choose God, and allow God to lead him to Himself, Who alone is eternal Life—not to a church and their creeds and their dogmas which are death. “Blind leaders of the blind.” You can take your pick. That’s why He said, “Come to me for eye salve.” But he fatally chose otherwise. He was a part of that generation in Matthew 13 who had eyes and ears, but could not see or hear. Yet there were others who could because they were ordained to see it and accept the person of eternal Life to lead them into immortality. Now, that’s what you’re looking at. The rich, young businessman could not accept the living Word that came with God as he stood before Him. Yet others could say, “Thou alone has the words of Eternal Life. We will not go anywhere or to anyone else.” They somehow without knowing... Now let’s understand this: Bro. Branham said that as long as you believe, you don’t have to understand. Now that’s where you start, but that’s not where you finish, because later on he consistently reported the truth, which as Paul said, “You’re just little babies on milk when you should be senior citizens in the Kingdom of God...what a shameful thing.” And Bro. Branham tells us absolutely that in his ministry, quoting Irenaeus, and adding to it, that Jesus Christ will come when the last Elected member is brought in, and he added the word ‘child training’. And ‘child training’ brings you to presentation, which is adulthood, which is adoption—the presentation. All right. We’re looking at that then. Remember: the great presentation that God made concerning Jesus was upon Mount Transfiguration where he was glorified, and he absolutely shone in immortality, the same as the others were presented—the law and grace, both being right there. All right. 7. We’re looking then at this fact that we’re coming to the place of the glorification, which means we are going then to be well inured, and absolutely one with the doctrine, which, I believe, causes us to be true adults. Now let’s go to the Book of Romans so that we can get the picture I’m trying to give you. I beg your pardon...1 Corinthians is where we want to go, 1 Corinthians 2. Now Paul, the apostle, having had a vindicated ministry, in chapter two says: (1) And I, brethren, when I came to you, came not with excellency of speech or wisdom... In other words, he wasn’t a ‘sophist’; he wasn’t a great orator; he wasn’t a great person who could get up there and emote and win the people over by swelling words and playing on their feelings, because, believe me, the feelings he played on most were the feelings of hatred and anger and animosity within the people, and most of the time they were ready to kill him. So, he certainly wasn’t one of those fast talking, suave individuals that we like to hear. (2) For I determined not to know any thing among you, save Jesus Christ, and him crucified. Of course, that was his own life he’s speaking of, not just the fact that Christ was crucified, because the actual fact of the matter is: Christ was crucified in weakness, and rose in power, and the power of the Resurrection was demonstrated at Pentecost and afterward, especially in the ministry of Paul, who was vindicated. The same as Bro. Branham said, “In this hour,” he said, “if Jesus Christ is raised from the dead, he’s bound to do for the Gentiles now what he did when He was living in flesh two thousand years ago.” And, of course, people simply cannot connect Isaiah 42 and Matthew 12 together. And when they’re taught, oh, they don’t believe it. See? Now all right. 8. Let’s keep going then. We’re going here further: (3) I was with you in (much) weakness and fear and trembling...in much fear and trembling. (4) And my speech and my preaching was not with enticing words of man’s wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and power: (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. He’s telling you right there that he was vindicated—that God backed this man up! When this man spoke, God backed up what that man said—identical to Jesus. Because Jesus said, “I only say what my Father tells me to say, and you ought to know it, knowing Moses, the prophet said, ‘I will come on the scene and be just that way with THUS SAITH THE LORD, showing that I am that one from God.’” And the prophet becomes God to the people. (5) That your faith should not stand in the wisdom of men, but in the power of God. (6) Howbeit we speak wisdom among them that are perfect. Now the word ‘perfect’ there seems to suggest... It’s like initiation into a very special elect company. And that company understands the mysteries: they have been well-oriented, actually inured into that particular area. 9. So, what I’m trying to tell you here is, as I look at this particular thought that I’ve brought to you, that these ones who said, “We know that you have the words of eternal Life; there’s nobody else has got them,” and yet they kept on bugging him about the taking over the Kingdom. The last thing they bugged him about was: “Will you restore the kingdom to Israel at this time?” And yet people try to tell you that Matthew 24, where they say to him, “What is the sign of thy coming?” that those disciples knew the Second Coming of Jesus and asked for a sign. They didn’t even know about the First Coming of Jesus! What are you supposed to do, and this Scripture fulfilled? Look! I don’t have my cart in front of the horse...not for fifteen seconds. See? Now, what they did was recognize, though they didn’t understand, they recognized that this was the Person you listened to, and this was a Person you believed, and this was the One you depended on, even to the extent of your life! “Oh, Bro. Vayle...oh, my, my! You mean...you mean to tell me that...?” Yeah! I’m telling you! You want me to get real callous and tell you what I’m like? I’ve hardly got a feeling left. That’s right. I’ve hardly got an emotion left. I’m facing a promise of God, like Abraham, when nothing, except every day getting bleaker and bleaker. Yet It says, “That’s the time you lift up your head and rejoice.” Because there ain’t nothing to see or you want to see! Nothing you want that’s worth having! Unless somehow God does something, and you’re ham strung. You know what they used to do with the horses in battle? They hoed them. That means ham string. They ham strung the horses and they couldn’t lift their feet up. 10. Jesus said to Peter, “One day you won’t be able to lift your feet up, but they’ll carry you where you don’t want to go.” And Peter said, “Whom, having seen, we love, though now we see him, not yet believing,” “joy unspeakable and full of glory,” something the world and nobody knows about. And through all the bleakness and all these things round about, there’s something in there that dynamically clings to the Word, and says, “If It’s gone—I’m gone,” because it’s the only Word in two thousand years that God ever answered back to, in the way that only God can answer back to, according to His promise. 11. So, they somehow, without knowing the revelation, as Paul would bring it forth and they would later receive it, even in their muddled condition, not knowing what was meant, they said, “Now we know that thou alone has the words of eternal Life. Now we know what You said is going to come to pass.” But, you see, they didn’t really understand that Word, yet they recognized the Rhema-Logos! Huh? Everybody recognizes Logos—even God. Everybody recognizes God. He’s somewhere out there—somewhere. He’s either infinite Spirit, like air, or He’s a Person. It doesn’t really matter. Everybody recognizes Logos, whether it’s in an ant or a person, a piece of architecture...somewhere...somehow, but they don’t understand and accept Rhema. And they had this guy from Chicago running around, fooling all the preachers around here. They had him in their pulpits. Oh, yes, they did, and I can prove it to you. And he sneered all the time, trying to make Rhema and Logos different. Get the Strong’s Concordance, if you want. Bring it up here, and I’ll take you where Rhema and logos is identical...interchangeable…because He’s a Rhema-Logos or He ain’t no God! Who wants a God that’s deaf, dumb, and can’t talk? If He can’t talk, He can’t hear! And they talk about a God Who’s omniscient, and omnipotent. And He hasn’t got a Word? Ha! Don’t know the King’s Word means life or death? Don’t know ‘the absolute’ lies in a Word? Oh, they love to think about the law of the Medes and Persian, which cannot be altered, and they talk about the Word of God that doesn’t change—and It doesn’t—and God doesn’t change. But they forget how God does things, so He’s no longer a Logos, if He’s not Rhema. You can say what you want; argue that all you want, but He’s a Rhema-Logos God. All right. 12. That young man would have gladly chosen God without the Word of the hour. He would have gladly chosen God without the Word of that hour. He was certain he could have the one without the other, but he ended up in Hades. That one act of denial determined all his following conduct. He never could follow Christ, the Word. We’re talking now in terms of Holy Spirit, God Himself. It is not saying that he departed from his childhood and adulthood conduct of shunning adultery, murder, stealing, lying, defrauding or dishonoring his parents. Remember: Paul the Apostle wrote all the Ten Commandments in the Bible except the one, and that is ‘Saturday’. Paul said, “We don’t put one day above another,” you know, put one day above another, make one day holier. Every day was a day of Christ, Christ in me living. But Bro. Branham did say, “We follow the tradition because it honors His Resurrection.” 13. And yet the Seven Day Adventists, claiming themselves ‘God’, they think that’s a mark of the beast. And they’ll try to make every history book under high heaven tell what they assume to be a hundred percent right. And yet how many Seven Day Adventists came to hear William Branham, the prophet? I wonder if we can find one, that in the face of vindication, changed his mind about anything. He was flawless in this respect, but the law was until John only. Grace and truth came by Jesus Christ, and the law contained only condemnation and death. For there was no law that could bring life. How’d you like to get a law to bring life? Huh! Find one out in nature. “Oh,” they say, “there’s a big bang out there somewhere.” Who made the big bang? The biggest bang I know is stupid, so-called scientists, shooting their mouths off. And they’re going to find that’s the biggest bang when God takes them to task and throws them in the Lake of Fire. (Because when science itself is here to prove God, which you can do, to back up every statement in this Bible, which it can do…yet this is not a scientific book, neither is it a philosophical book. It is a book from God.) You’ll hear the big bang then. 14. No, they don’t understand there is no law, with protein and everything else there, that can make life. See? It can’t be done. You’ve got to have life, which is structured and proven by true science, that there is no such thing as a monkey turning into a man, but there is certainly a lot of proof that man has enough shenanigans in him, and evidently shows it, that proves he’s a monkey. Now they’ve got this tooth in Africa... Now, remember; Bro. Branham said that Eden was in Africa. Science is right. The cradle of civilization and man is in Africa. And it was in Africa they found the evidence that Eve is the mother of all living. Oh, yeah. They definitely said there might have been a lot of Eves, but she’s the one from whom they came. Now they’ve got this tooth. It’s supposed to be somewhere between a man and a chimpanzee. So, now they’ve got the missing link. Imagine a tooth! They pulled that thing off when I was twenty years of age. A farmer in Indiana took a tooth into a professor at University, and they analyzed the tooth and they said, “Yes, sir. That’s an ancient tooth..; it’s about a million years old. There’s no two ways about it.” And after the guys all got through talking, the farmer said, “Well,” he said, “that’s strange,” he said, “I’ve run a bunch of pigs out there. I’ve got an estimation that’s a pig tooth.” It was a pig tooth. So, much for your scientists. Let me tell you: anybody can talk and hypothesize. This man Bro. Branham never talked in terms of hypothesizing. Everything was vindicated by Almighty God. 15. Now, let’s go to the book I want to get you to. There’s no law that can create light. There’s no law even... I’m talking about a principle now. There’s no law even, of itself, can give life. There’s got to be life itself. Just hold that in your mind. In the Col 2:14: (14) Blotting out... (This is Christ upon the cross.) Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; (15) And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a show of them openly, triumphing over them in it. (16) Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or respect of a holyday, or of the new moon, (That’s new ‘months’, not ‘moon’.) and of the sabbath days: (17) Which are a shadow of things to come. Now, listen: what was the “handwriting of ordinances against you”? The legalists, of which many are Seven Day Adventists, they try to tell you, “Oh, the washing of pots and pans. Oh, the little things you had to do. Oh, the little tiny thing...” Listen, let me tell you flat: if all it took was the blood of a lamb and little pots and pans to keep from the penalty of adultery and murder and all those filthy things, I’d be happy to do it! 16. What was for them? Was the washing of pots and pans and the ceremonies. What was against them? The Ten Commandments. Now the Ten Commandments brought death. Huh? “Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and all thy soul, and all thy mind,” and you can’t do it unless, according to Deuteronomy 30:6 (I read It to you.) your hearts are circumcised. Now, how do you get a circumcised heart? It’s got to go back to the Word. Because from the time of Adam, the layers of sin kept continually growing until, as one man said, “My heart is a heart of unbelief like an onion. You take off one ring and another ring and another ring and another ring, till you get down to the center, and that’s a ring, too.” He said, “I’ll put a new heart in you. Put a new thought process in you.” That which was against us, He took out of the way. 17. Now this young fellow said, “I’ve never done those things. I’ve honored the Lord. I’ve honored His Word.” But, you see, there was nothing in there that gave him life. It gave him condemnation, because out of the heart proceeds adulteries and murders and all these things. But you say, “But I never did it!” But the heart is in there, desperately wicked. Who can know it? The Bible says, “I, the Lord God, try the reins.” [Jer 17:10] 18. William Branham came on the scene discerning every heart, and you couldn’t hide if you tried. They turned him down flat. But life of itself, even the Life of God, stood there before this young man, and in that Light, all that should have saved him, following the light of the Ten Commandments, betrayed him, and his light turned to darkness, and that which he had was taken all away from him, and he ended up in Hades, perished. The next step is the lake of fire. This is exactly Jn 3:16, which I’ve read to you time after time after time after time. (16) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, (The One-of-a-Kind, equal with Him, First-born, First-begotten.) (and) whosoever believeth in him... (As that particular One.) Now, if you make him ‘God’, you’re wrong...you’re...you’re... Hey! You say, “Bro. Vayle, don’t you dare judge Jesus-Only.” The prophet already judged him. He said, “I’m not.” 19. So, if you make him ‘God the Son’, and you’re foolish enough to think I’m preaching two gods, I’ve got news for you: I will meet you shortly, honey. I will meet you. And you on the tape, and you... I will meet you. You think I won’t? Nobody loves “live, die, sink or swim,” except goofs like me. Go ahead. I’m ready to perish. I’ve got nothing to lose. The only thing proven is what that man brought us. (16) ...Should not perish, but have everlasting life. (17) For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved. (That’s one hundred percent right!) (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. Hath not believed in the Name? What’s his Name? Jesus. What’s ‘Jesus’? Jehovah Saviour. Who’s ‘Jehovah’? Elohim! “I came in my Father’s Name. They turned me down. There’s another going to come in his own name. You’re going to take him.” Luther, Methodist, Pentecost...all the churches... (18) He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. (19) And this is the condemnation, that light is come into the world... 20. So, with the Son and with the Name, there comes light. Now, do you think you can have the Son without the light? The Bible says “No.” If you think you can have the light without the Son, the Bible says “No.” So, if you’ve got the Son, you’re going to have the light. In plain English: you’re going to have the true Word of God for the hour because that was the Word! Didn’t he have an actual conversation with Nicodemus who came to him, and he said to Jesus, “Rabbi, teacher, we know that thou art a teacher come from God because no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him.” God anointed Jesus of Nazareth…the Holy Ghost, and he went about doing great things—healings and mighty miracles—because God was with him. The Anointer was his anointing! Huh? God anointed Jesus with Himself. He wasn’t only full of the Holy Ghost. William Branham wasn’t only full of the Holy Ghost. God came down Himself. “Oh, my! Oh, my!” I know people... Why do thy always hate it? Well, it’s the devil doing it, but he’s got to have his agents, so phooey. See? “Rabbi; oh, teacher, teacher.” See? All right. 21. He tells you here. He said: (19) This is the condemnation that light is come into the world... He said, “I am the Light of the world. I’ve got something to tell you. I’m just not a manifestation here to take away your sin.” He said, “If the Son of man sets you free, you’ll be free indeed.” And he said, “You know the doctrine,” but he said, “the light that is in you turned to darkness. How great is your darkness? It’s all over. They put your ear to the...ear lobe to the door and the slave owner punches it with an awl, a little bubble appears; it never goes away. You’ll never listen to the Word of God again.” This young man never, ever listened to the Word of God again. (20) For every one that doeth evil hates the light (That’s worshipping God with evil intent, in his own manner, and disobeying the true revelation of God’s Word, just like Cain.) Every one that doeth evil hates the light, neither comes to the light, lest his deeds be reproved. (21) But he that doeth truth cometh to the light, that his deeds may be manifest, that they are wrought of God. 22. In other words, the whole thing can be put to the test. And Jesus Christ was put to the test. Paul was put to the test. Every prophet is put to the test. And William Branham was put to the test. But that’s only the alpha. The omega today (And let’s look at it.) is Matthew 7, and I know that you know just where I’m going because we’ve been there before. And here’s what It says: (15) Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves. (16) You shall know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes of thorns, (and) figs of thistles? (17) Even so every good tree bringeth forth good fruit; but a corrupt tree bringeth forth evil fruit. (18) A good tree cannot bring forth evil fruit, neither can a corrupt tree bring forth good fruit. They’re talking about fruit trees. Now, remember; there were two trees in the Garden of Eden. It makes a big to-do about the Tree of the Knowledge of Good and Evil, and It only says one little thing about the Tree of Life. The Tree of Life was also there. So, that lets me know there’s going to be a great to-do and a great spread of the tree of evil, and very little about the Tree of Life, in fact, that is insignificant. Why bother? Who needs it? Nothing to it…picayune. If anybody gets too boisterous—kill him. Every prophet...sawed asunder...stoned, heads chopped off...everything else. Do you want to be a prophet? You don’t hear of the false prophets getting their heads chopped off. No. 23. Now: (20) Wherefore by their fruits you know them. What are they bearing? What does a prophet bear? A prophet bears Word. Right? Deuteronomy 18, Deuteronomy 13: true prophet, false prophet. You can’t have a false without a true. Now: (21) Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; (“I haven’t committed adultery; I haven’t lied, haven’t stolen, haven’t murdered, kept the proper days, honored my father and mother.”) but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. (“But I’ve done the will of God!”) Oh, have you? What about the light? (22) Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name cast out devils? And in thy name done wonderful works? “Haven’t we put into practice Mark 16? Haven’t we obeyed the Word of God? We’re standing here on what we’ve done. We’re standing here on how we took the Word, and we obeyed the Word. We cast out devils, we’ve spoken in tongues, we’ve prophesied, we had gifts of faith among us. All of these things, Lord, we have not denied your power of the Resurrection.” But that is not the power of the Resurrection. That is simply gifts of the Holy Ghost. The power of the Resurrection is “THUS SAITH THE LORD!” You want the real power of the Resurrection? It’s not that these others don’t come out of it. Those are simply gifts. But the power of the Resurrection, proven that he had been risen from the dead... And Bro. Branham said, “If he’s risen from the dead, he’ll do the same things right now he did 2,000 years ago when he did them in flesh”...that same Anointing, that same God, because Jesus never did claim to do them. He said, “I don’t do it! I don’t say it!” William Branham said, “I was just one standing there. I was just a voice that He used.” 24. Now, listen: the end time, the omega, they come and said, “We’ve done all of this. We’ve kept all of this. We’ve nourished ourselves on it. This is our stand. I know William Branham. I know he had something great.” And I know the young man said, “Jesus, I know you’ve got something great; there’s no doubt about it. Who are these idiots with you?” Why, here are poor fishermen…like Bro. Branham said, “They couldn’t spell their own names—some of them”…poorly educated...like our little friend, ‘the Kentucky hillbilly’, as he called himself. He used the word ‘tote’, and everything else. ‘Tote’ is a good word. There are two meanings to the word ‘tote: one’s a bag, and the other one means ‘to pick it up and carry it’. Not a bad word; people just don’t use it. “Who is this ignorant Bill Branham? Who does he think he is?” He never thought he was anything. He didn’t care. It was what God thought. The man could stand up and say, “I always do what I want to do; I always want to please Him.” Tell me where the rest did it. I’ll show you their palatial homes and everything else they’ve got, and I’ll show you where the God of this world, the mammon, ate them up. Don’t have time for that stuff. (23) I’ll profess, I never, (ever) knew you... I never knew you: depart from me, you that work iniquity. 25. So, the omega is Mt 7:15, is where they put their boasts. And their boast is: “We’re the leaders! We’ve got God! Don’t give me that stuff about the Word! I’ve got manifested gifts; I’ve got love. Yes, sir.” I don’t think too highly of them myself...what I’ve seen. So, the omega today is Mt 7:15-23, in the light of Matthew 12, which we’ve read before, speaking over here: (18) ...I’ll put my spirit upon him, and he shall show judgment to the Gentiles. Now It doesn’t say He’s going to do it at that time! But It says it’s going to be done. And, remember; the same person can’t change when he said, “I only say what my Father tells me to say. I only do what my Heavenly Father tells me to do.” And they said, “When is this kingdom going to be started? When are you coming?” He said, “That’s in my Father’s hands.” It’s very funny; people like to attribute to Jesus what doesn’t belong to him. If it doesn’t belong, then he doesn’t want it, because he’s not a thief. But God is a jealous God. He let His Only-begotten Son be put to the test, right by the devil, face-to-face. Not an arch-devil came down; the devil himself came. Met him in the wilderness when he was thirsty, hungry, tired, vulnerable! We’re vulnerable, except for one thing: that Word. That Word is the only thing. 26. Now: (18) I’ll put my spirit upon him, he shall show judgment to the Gentiles. So, when he shows judgment, that’s when that Spirit manifests. Ephesians 1:17—same thing: can’t have two spirits. (19) (And that spirit will) not strive nor cry; (nor) any man hear his voice in the streets. Why? Because it’s a spirit! Jesus did all three when he was on earth. He strove, beat the backs out of those birds in the temple, screamed in the streets in Jn 7:37-39. They heard his voice; he cried. (20) A bruised reed shall he not break... (He broke it! Israel religion is gone, except for a few souls under the altar and 144,000 coming in.) The bruised reed he’ll not break, the smoking flax not quench... (But he said to the Gentiles, “Spare the oil and the wine. I won’t have you take either way.) till he sent forth judgment unto victory. (21) And in his name shall the Gentiles trust. They don’t even know His Name. And to know His Name is to know what’s behind It. Not, “Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus, Jesus.” Pentecostals are full of that. I’ve nothing against them; I’m not belittling that Name. I’m only telling you: “Thou shalt not bear the name of the Lord thy God in vain.” And that’s not cursing. That means to actually ‘bear’ It, to be the carrier of It, temples of the Holy Ghost of the living God. 27. Now, what does It say over here in Isaiah 42? So, we go and we read It. And It says: (1) Behold my servant, whom I uphold; mine elect, in whom my soul delighteth; I put my spirit upon him: (And then It says He’s “going to bring forth judgment to the Gentiles.” And at that time:) (2) He’ll not cry, nor lift up his voice, (or) be heard in the street. (3) The bruised reed he (won’t) break, the smoking flax he (won’t) quench: he shall bring forth judgment unto truth. “Judgment unto truth.” He’ll judge between a lie and the truth, and the world is judged by it. (4) He shall not fail nor be discouraged, till he have set judgment in the earth: and the isles shall wait for his law. (5) Thus said God... This is God speaking, and He’s going to do it, because God always did it. God, by Christ Jesus, created the worlds and the ages. God, by Christ Jesus, redeemed. They still can’t get it through their heads that he’s the Son of God, and he was obedient even unto death because that was in there. They can’t understand the hour in which we live, and that’s one of the great things that Bro. Branham said in “Daniel’s Seventy Weeks,” that the Spirit of God was come into the world and let them know the hour in which they lived, and revealed the great, deep secrets, the mysteries of Almighty God. And, of course, this is Eph 1:17, and Eph 1:17 takes place of Rev 10:1-7, God Himself coming down to His prophet. And in Rev 22:10-19, that’s after the Seals are open, the Tree of Life now appears and you can approach It and walk to It. Why? Because 1 Th 4:16 has already occurred: “The Lord has descended with His Word, the Shout;” is now ready to raise the dead and take us to the Wedding Supper. And at that time 1 Cor 15:49-54 takes place: “We shall not all die, we shall all go be made immortal:” the mystery of the living turned into immortal bodies, and never shall they perish. 28. In this message Bro. Branham shows us again that revealed or passive faith is the foundation of our salvation. Fruitage and gifts are good! Fruitage and gifts are good, and anyone without the fruitage and gifts has no right to even talk about God as though there’s a relationship. But outside of the revealed Word of God and their allegiance to It, these do not count, but count against you, which is very sad to say. It’s like Dr. Newell wrote in Romans, when he talked about works and men doing works. He said, “The tragic and saddest thing of all is,” and he compared the man doing the most works—good works, to the man that did very little. He said, “It’s like: if there were some men jumping from the coast of New York, the coast of America, to the coast of France,” he said, “it is strange, but true: the man who leaped the furthest would be in the greatest danger.” Why? Because he’s out there the furthest in the deepest water; he’d drown the quickest—the quicker of the two. Yet people cannot understand. It’s like Booth Claiborne, who said, “I’ve met the same kind of people, when they could not believe in the God of grace.” “I’ve done this; I’ve done that.” Say, “What haven’t you done?” “Well, I didn’t commit adultery.” “Well, for God’s sake, go and commit adultery.” 29. I shocked the daylights out of my wife when I said that, concerning a certain woman. She abused her husband; she abused everybody. She was ‘hell on wheels’. But, boy, she pretended she was some great Baptist Christian. She was a ‘Blaptist’, all right, which she was. Alisen got shocked when I said, “I should tell her, ‘Go out and commit adultery,’ because that’s all she can harp about.” Why? Because if that’s all you’ve got to bank on, then get rid of it! Do it! Do it! Then come with your stinking self-righteousness, completely in the mud, completely soiled, completely manure-ized; then come to God for a new heart and cleansing. Now, if I’ve shocked you this morning... If I’ve shocked you tonight, I don’t know why you’re sitting here. You have no invitation to come back, to be honest with you. Not by works of righteousness which we have done! Not by abstaining from evil! Huh? Then put it there. And let’s go further: “Shall we sin that grace may about? God forbid!” [Rom 6:1] Huh? Yeah. Live, die, sink or swim. 30. Fruitage and gifts are good; they are not the answer. God Himself is not either in gifts or fruit. God is in His Word. When did God ever say the works were life? When did God say the gifts were life? He never did. “The Words that I speak unto you, they are Spirit and they are Truth.” [Jn 6:63] And the disciples, while not understanding... “Thou alone has the words of eternal life. I don’t understand this thing, but I know something is there!” Now they become the men who sell everything they have to find the treasure of great price, buy the field to get the pearl of great price. They are willing to go all the way: live, die, sink or swim. I’ve calculated everything. You know what, brother/sister? It’s worse than going to Las Vegas, thinking you can beat the gang, and you’ve got everything you’ve saved up for one pull of the one-armed robber, and you lose everything. But all you can lose there is your shirt, but unless you had one last fling, where you fling your life, where this man wouldn’t fling his life, you’re gone. Oh, they love to say, “Casting all your care upon Him, for He cares for you.” Why don’t they understand ‘casting your life upon Him according to the Truth, the great Rhema-Logos God’? 31. After Bro. Branham takes that portion of conduct, when he deals lengthily with the doctrines of sovereignty and Godhead, he refers to a second choice presented to men—and women have the same choice in the alternate gender—choosing a wife. So, we go over here to page 26… And you see why we’re slow. On 178: [178] You have the choice of conduct. He dealt with that. How you conduct yourself, that’s up to you. Sure it is. It’s up to you, based upon sovereignty, but you have a part in it. [179] You have a choice of wife. You go out and take your wife. You want to take a wife; you want to take one that’s complimentery to what you plan your future home to be. Could you imagine a man, a Christian man, going out and taking one of these modern Rickettas for a wife? You know something? Bro. Branham was very human. This is his last sermon. Right? How many here remember what...in one sermon Bro. Branham said that God said about the word ‘Ricketta’? Anybody remember? Huh? Nobody? Oh, come on. You’ve got to remember. He said the Lord told him that wasn’t nice. I’m going to be just like Bro. Branham. See? I’m did not hookwink you, to make this a joke, but it’s a little joke, but it’s the truth, calling them ‘Rickies’ and ‘Rickettas’. Same One that said, “This has become a sideshow.” I never saw a sideshow, but God did. Bro. Branham tells us he was told not to say it in his last sermon; he couldn’t help himself. Thank you, Bro. Branham. I love you. I’m in your corner with all of my heart. A ‘Ricketta.’ ‘Ricky’ means ‘rat’. So, “Hi, Ricky the rat.” And ‘Ricketta’ means ‘Sister Rat’. “Hi, Brother and Sister Rat.” 32. [179] …Could you imagine a Christian, not a rat, but a sheep, going out to marry a ‘Ricketta’, or ‘rat’...female rat. What do they call her, a ‘ratette’? ...for a wife? Could you imagine? “Could you imagine?” he says. What’s the man thinking about? What kind of a home is he going to have if he takes a striptease, a burlesque off the street out there, a street pros... I’ll tell you what he’ll have! A bunch of rebellious kids who are into sex by the time they’re eight, nine, ten years of age. You’ve got little illegitimate babies out there that are eating up the whole economy of the country. Homosexual, rottenous filth is what you’ve got. You think mamma can tell her kids not to enjoin in sexual activities when she’s there. As Bro. Branham said, “Your grandma’s a flapper and your mother’s a whore.” Maybe the word is ‘prostitute’, I guess that was it. Do you remember the flapper age? That’s the year they sang, “Roll ‘em, girlies, roll ‘em. Roll ‘em down below your pretty knees. Don’t laugh at ma. Laugh at pa. Give them all the ‘ha ha’, Roll ‘em.” Did a woman write that? No, a man wrote it. Why did he write it for? For the women—to liberate them, so they’d have no conscience for their sexual affairs and the key clubs, and everything else coming on the scene. They’d all be prostitutes when they got through their job. It’s just like wiping their mouth, having eaten a piece of bread. Why? It’s part of life. They’re trying to keep you from the good things. Yeah. When did God ever keep anybody from something good? You talk about a bunch of birds. 33. [179] ... “Oh,” you say, “now wait a minute.” How does she dress? See? See? Wear shorts and things. She’s just a street prostitute .“Oh,” you say, “now, Bro. Branham!” Just a minute. Oh, those little old tight skirts, look like you’re poured into, street prostitute. Now, Bro. Branham has already said the Holy Spirit caused him to say this same thing previously. Does anybody know, when the Bible says, “Verily, verily,” what it means? The compound ‘verily’ means you ain’t got a chance that it’s ever going to change. This is it. Therefore, God must use the term ‘verily, verily’, and, therefore, as He wrote the Book of Deuteronomy, twice written—the Law, so at the end time, the same Pillar of Fire that brought the Word to Paul is here revealing It, thoroughly explaining It, giving us the perfect understanding of the Word by God Himself. Now Bro. Branham never named names here. He just screams out... The Spirit of God screams out in judgment against these people. 34. Now, watch where he goes: [180] Jesus said, “Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in his heart.” Then he’s got to answer for that. And what does she do? She presented herself. Who’s guilty? Think of it. Now, let’s just think of that, shall we, for a little tiny bit here. “Whoso looketh upon a woman to lust after her has committed adultery with her in his heart.” [Mt 5:28] While the woman says, “I’ve got a right to dress how I want, and it’s you dirty, evil, filthy-thinking men that think those thoughts. If you weren’t so filthy, such chauvinistic, male pigs that want women only as a sex symbol, we wouldn’t have that trouble.” Well, now women, what they’re doing right now, they’re denying God, they’re blaspheming God and blaspheming His Word. And, remember; that’s the antichrist spirit, to blaspheme the Word and the God of Heaven. 35. So, if you want to with me, you can go back to the Book of Genesis and see where this whole thing started. Now I’m going to tell you some things here that I see, and I don’t say Bro. Branham is going to tell you these things. I’m just looking at them, and you can do what you want about it, which...because I’m doing what I want about it. I’m looking at it, see, and I’m just thinking, “Hey, how does this thing kind of come together?” In Gen 2:25, It says here: (25) And they were both naked, the man and his wife, and they were not ashamed. They were both naked. Now Bro. Branham made a comment, “They were veiled by God.” I don’t think he said they were veiled by the ‘glory of God’, and I don’t think they were veiled by God Himself. I think the comment was, “They were veiled by God.” Now, when we have our eyes veiled, it simply means that our eyes have kept from seeing what is really there, and it could be that is what is here. I haven’t gone in it from Bro. Branham’s viewpoint, but I’m just looking at it, so you’ve got to forgive me as I’m talking about these things because you’re hearing Lee Vayle at this point...very much so. “And they were both naked, the man and his wife.” And, of course, nakedness between husband and wife is certainly very legitimate, even on the grounds that we know that that was the thing that started the whole problem back in the beginning. 36. Now that particular word ‘naked’ there means ‘nude, naked, either partly or completely’, could be either one, but in this particular care, we have no reason to believe it was anything but complete nakedness and nudity. And it comes from the root word which means ‘to be’ or ‘to make bare’, but used only in the derived sense of ‘to be cunning’, in a bad sense, or ‘to take crafty counsel, to deal subtlely’. Once in a while it can mean perhaps ‘to take a good counsel’. But what I’m trying to show you here is that this particular word here is not the same word over in Genesis 3 and in verse 7, where It says: (7) And the eyes of them both were opened, and they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, and made themselves aprons. (And, of course, It says:) (8) ...The Lord came... (10) And he said, I was naked—(same word)—I hid myself. (11) And he said, Who told thee you (were) naked? (It’s the very same word.) Now it takes its meaning from the same root word that the first word ‘naked’ takes its meaning from, and it means ‘nudity’ or ‘nakedness’. It has the same, but to me, this is the stronger word in here where they said, “We knew we were naked.” And over there, it just simply states they were naked, that it is very explicit in its meaning. In other words, a condition, which, of course, implied a conduct, because the fact of their nudity was not it; their conduct was it. But this evidently is basic to the conduct. So, in this first part, I see that it’s not strong. It’s the same word that Job says, “Naked I came in the world, and naked I’m going to leave the world,” and things like that, you know. But, as I say, this word, to begin with, shows overtones to me that it is that which, when becoming aware of, will lead them into corruption as nothing else will lead you because it’s the truth of whatever this was, and it had to do with nakedness. The nakedness, in itself, was not the bad thing. It was what could be done with it, from it, by it, so that you got involved in a conduct. Huh? And Bro. Branham is talking about ‘conduct’. And he’s talking about a man who looks at a woman with a certain conduct. 37. And Bro. Branham goes on to say: “You women have committed adultery with those men out there.” And she will say, and use the Methodist term and the Pentecostal version, the Baptist, and so on, and this Methodist woman looked at this Baptist woman out there, and she’ll talk about this woman being such a creature, and yet she herself is wearing shorts and bra in public. And Bro. Branham said, “Let me tell you, sister, you’ve committed adultery with many men already.” “I want to tell you: my life is virgin pure—pure as the snow! I’ve been unfaithful to my husband not one time! I am a strict disciplined woman!” Huh-uh. You just think you are. You’ve laid yourself open in that condition so that men will fall into the trap. Do you understand what I’m saying? In other words, she has put herself in a position of sexual encounters, which should be only with her lawful husband. And she’s committed adultery in many, many ways. Now the Bible lets you know positively that the serpent got to Eve because of that condition. It was there. And the Bible lets you know positively that Adam indulged also because that special condition was there. So, It shows you, as Bro. Branham said, “They would have come to the act anyway.” But what did she do? He called her ‘Eve, the prostitute’, who should have born the Seed, which is Christ, which is proven by the omega, because there’s no ruling and reigning without him, he should have been that Seed, and then through him and by him, all other Seed would have come. Come on. Let’s understand the Word of God. You can only reap what you sow. So, look at the reaping chapters. Look at them. It’s all there in the Book of Revelation. You can’t fool with it. 38. So, here this woman is, protesting her virtue... Now, let’s go a step further. The woman said, “Well, Bro. Branham, I don’t wear those slacks and those halters, I mean those shorts and those halters. I wear slacks.” He said, “That’s worse.” That’s worse. In other words, when the woman takes authority over the man, takes his place, she’s worse than a whore. A simple prostitute derives pleasure from men. She doesn’t take you in hand and run your life. She’s a mistress. Once she puts on that which pertains to a man, she signifies that she’s a man inside. And that’s what the revelator, John, tells us in the vision of Jezebel, the woman running the church. Now, why do you think for one minute we have lesbians on the rise? You never heard of lesbians. You heard of homosexuals. Now we’ve got lesbians everywhere, and these lesbians... Some even want to have a baby. And it’s going to be by a male, but from a sperm bank. Shows you where the women are. The woman’s a church; she’s going to run everything; she’s going to produce life; she’s going to do it all. And she will run the world, and I wouldn’t be surprised if we have a female president before very long. I’m not saying we will, but I wouldn’t be surprised. 39. So, here is what you’re looking at: how can a man have any use for a woman...? How can this church be disobedient, women walking all the way to the front with their skirts split all the way up to the buttocks, time after time? Bro. Branham said, “That’s a filthy spirit.” “Oh, but, Bro. Vayle, the skirt is to be split in front.” You’re crazier than a bed bug! You lie in your own teeth. Bro. Branham said, “The knee.” And he never said, “The front, as contrary to the back.” He said, “Knee.” Come on, you gals, pat the front of your knee, then reach and pat the back. Is that the back of your knee? If it ain’t, I wonder what it is. The back of the knee is worse than the front of the knee. The front is at least natural. The back is very horrible. Well, come on. They want to fill the church with illegal marriage and everything else. And I’ve got news for you… I’m not a pastor; I just teach. But I can sure wield a wicked crook at times, and a wicked sling. 40. The question...yes or no: Is the prophet right? Why would women do this? A little Amish girl came and said, “Bro. Branham, is it wrong if I showed my slip an inch below my skirt?” He said, “What in the world would make you want to do that?” Oh, in spite of her little hat that where she’s under Almighty God, she’s got a little sexy spirit on her. Anybody Amish here, and tell me that you deny they have sex spirits on them? Ho, ho, ho, ho! When you take away everything but that, that glistens, glows, and flares like a roman candle. I told a woman one day, back in Florida, about thirty years ago, about her son; she wanted to take away checkers. I said, “My God, woman, what’s wrong with you? No baseball, no nothing.” I said, “I’ll tell you what you will do, girl: you won’t take away his sex organs! And he’ll get with…as fast as he can.” He did. 41. The church went stupid, brother/sister. It’s pitiful. I agree with old Bro. Bell, Dr. Bill Graham’s...Billy Graham’s father-in-law. He said, “Everything anybody needs to know about sex and life, you’ll find in the Bible,” teach it from the Word of Almighty God. Bro. Branham was teaching them, the Holy Spirit was crying out, showing women that represented the church and what they were doing, exactly what was going to happen on Judgment Day, and the men standing by, say, “Oh, hey! Don’t give us that stuff! Teach us the big things about the Spirit! Get us into gifts.” And they’re going to stand, as they stood there, right in the face of God, and they said, “We raised the dead. We healed the sick. We do this; we speak in tongues; we’ve prophesied; all of these things. Hey! We’ve got it. This is God.” Find that in the Bible. They can’t do it. 42. [181] You say, “They don’t make any other clothes?” They’ve got goods and sewing machines. Now I love the ladies in this church. If anybody can say, “God bless the sisters,” I, as a minister here, can say, “God bless our sisters.” I have never seen, and I never expect to see...and I’m confident I never shall see, any better group than our women here, until I get to the Millennium—maybe not then even, because they may have a different means of doing it, who can take their sewing machines and goods and patterns and dress themselves and their children absolutely in a manner which astounds me. And I have to keep saying to the girls, and you’ll hear me, (Even Mary has heard me say.) “Did you buy that, or did you make it?” And when they say they made it, [Sighs] “Man! You just gave me ten thousand dollars, and I gave you all the love in my heart. Because you’re ladies, you’re sisters, you’re children of God, believing the Message, loving your husband, bringing up your children right, exerting yourself to the point where other women won’t, because you know this is the Word. And I’ve seen women absolutely thought they have no talent for this... I want to tell you: I don’t believe Bezaleel, the artificer in gold and silver and brass, had any talent until God gave it to him in the making of the Ark of the Covenant and the Tabernacle in the Wilderness, because the Bible says so. 43. You know, the Holy Ghost is wonderful. There’s old Dr. Lake. (Just a little offshoot here.) I knew this lady; her name was Sr. Boyd...marvelous pianist. She said, “Bro. Vayle, never mind the key. You just tell me the song, and give me a little hum. I’ll get the key.” She was talented. She graduated from London Royal Academy of Music, and so on. Anyway, she did not have a singing voice. One day Dr. Lake said to her, he said, “Sis. Boyd, I want you to sing tomorrow night.” She said, “Dr. Lake, you know that I don’t have a voice. I can’t sing.” He laid his hands on her. He said, “In the name of Jesus Christ, you now have a voice.” Her voice was the most beautiful voice. It was below a contralto. And when she sang the song, “The beggar, sitting at the highway, then Jesus came”… Why? Because God gave it to her. 44. And I know another young lady. She was a preacher’s wife; her name was Lorraine. She wanted to preach in a great…[imitates a soprano voice], and she could do it. And she thought she was a great preacher. And she made her husband so nervous, he had a nervous breakdown because she was ‘the great one’. She let everybody know it. She had the anointing and everything else. But she could sing, like hardly anybody sing with anointing. I said, “Lorraine! You’ve got the anointing from God to sing! Leave the Gospel alone!” “Wha-a-a.” [Imitates her crying.] But you heard Bro. Branham say, “Women can’t preach.” “Wha-a-a.” 45. Hey! Have we got women like that here? I want to ask you. I want to ask you. Come on. Be honest before God. Look it. There’s the picture right there. There’s something real behind it, my honey child. Come on, be honest. Come on, be honest. Do you want to be something you’re not? Do you want to go where you’re not supposed to go? Bro. Branham said, “That’s presuming..” No authority to go. Is the Word of God that brings Light too much? Is Life too much for us? Is the Kingdom of heaven too much for us? Have we got gold-plated tongues, instead of gold-plated hearts? It’s a question. 46. [182] And I don’t want to hurt you, said Bro. Branham. And this is not a joke, This is THUS SAITH THE LORD from Scriptures. It’s exactly true, friend. I’m an old man, haven’t got much time longer to stay, but I’ve got to tell you the Truth. And if this is my last message, it’s the Truth! Is this…sisters? Don’t, sister. Don’t, brother. Don’t do what you’re doing, women. And you men, don’t marry them. You know, the big leader and his family went over to Greece and Mary Matokolis, born in New York, married a general in the Greek army, the chief surgeon...Pentecostal...millionaire people sat in that congregation. The American bunch came over, all painted—messed up. Of course, Mary, speaking fluent Greek and fluent English, took them outside. She said, “You don’t come in this church with faces like that. Huh-uh. Get all that junk off your face.” So, they wiped their faces off and came back, and Mary met them at the door, and she said, “Not enough. It’s not all off. All off.” In Greece I saw, in a Roman Catholic church... No, in a Greek Orthodox church, it said, “Ladies, honor God and the dead. Do not come in here in slacks and in short skirts and in manly attire.” And Pentecostals? Full of the Holy Ghost? Huh? “Well, they’re just a bunch of legalists! A bunch of work artists! Oh, my.” Well, what ought we to be? Huh? This fellow here was not condemned because he was doing those things. It just wasn’t the Message of the hour. The law was until John, but here’s to Jesus, with grace and truth. This is not something you’re doing now. This is something I’m doing. Understand? God on the scene today saying, “This is not something I’m asking you. This is something I’m doing. Can you believe it?” 47. [183] And you fellows that’s hanging onto a creed, and knowing the Word of God being vindicated right before you, the baptism of the Holy Ghost and these realities that we have today, and then, because of your creed, will you turn away from It? Your speaking in tongues, as evidence? How can you be a son of God and deny the Word of God that’s predicted for this last day we’re living in? How can you do it? The Bible calls this... And the word is left out, but I can tell you what he’s saying: the Bible calls this, leaving ‘this’ out, ‘irresponsible conduct when you should be responsible in your conduct.’ I don’t have time to read 2 Peter. There’s no need for it; read It many, many times, but the Bible tells you: as there were false prophets right after Peter speaks of the end-time Presence in the holy mount, and the Word made absolutely perfect and sure by prophecy coming to pass in this hour, he then says, “As there were false prophets back there...forget it! It’s going to be the false teachers now.” And it makes me marvel how Branhamites can fall for false prophets! Where in the world are they coming from? Well, the point is: they haven’t come; they’re still there. As I said last night... (How much time have we got? That’s enough. I’ll try to get my notes up to where we come in here to illustrate this illustration.) All right. 48. You understand where we are tonight? Now remember; when I spoke as I did, concerning Bro. Branham said it’s in the Scripture, a woman dressing in a manner, which means she’s uncovering herself, I took it back to Genesis. We’ll take some more things back to Genesis before we get out of here. By tomorrow we should cover that also. I was talking concerning what I saw, whether I saw what Bro. Branham saw, and I was correct. I can’t say that’s THUS SAITH THE LORD for one split second. I only teach; I’m not a prophet. But I told you one thing, the truth, it started way back there. And what did it get them into? Yeah. And what comes out of the heart? Adulteries. Adultery is a type of idolatry. False gods. How do you know the false from the true? One vindicates His Word. Brother/sister, stand on It tonight with everything you’ve got. If everything’s falling around you, if everybody’s going to hell beside you…your family…and everybody else leaves, let me tell you something: don’t be fooled. It’s all over. 49. You’ve got good wives, you men, and you women have got good husbands, but the Bible says there’s no marriage in heaven: those that married, as though they never married. It’s a one-to-one. I know marriage Bro. Branham said, “God gave man a woman, it’s the greatest gift He could give outside of salvation.” I agree a hundred percent; I’m all for it. When you leave here, it’s over. You don’t have to go with her; she doesn’t have to go with you. It’d be nice to go together. Bro. Branham will be over there—both his wives...perfectly legal. It won’t be like we have it here. It’s just fellowship in the Word, and the beautiful Light. But I want you to look at yourself tonight. I’ve got to look at myself. The old song said, “If my loved ones won’t go with me, I’ll not turn back. I’ll not turn back.” And live, die... We’ve gone further. It’s not ‘if my loved ones won’t come’, that’s a foregone conclusion. We know that’s by election. Foreordination, predestination… We’ve gone further. Live, die...or, as Bro. Branham said, “Swim or drown.” All right. Shall we pray? Heavenly Father, we come to You again in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, thanking You for Your love and Your mercy and Your goodness, which You have given us, Lord, at this time, and manifested it so that we know wherein lies Your love and Your goodness and what You are doing, and also what You are saying, and to whom You are saying it, so that we have the revelation which we find to be very simple and yet many people could not take the basic simplicity, which would really amount to, ‘If you can handle the unrighteous mammon, how are you going to handle the other?’ which would be, ‘If you can’t handle the improper dress, you’ve got to have it, how’re you going to get the true dress?’ which would be, again, ‘How you’re going to stop talking about the creeds and dogmas and fill your mouth with the truth in order to get ready and get dressed?’ And, we know, Lord, they turned their backs on it, and they walked away. And, Lord, since that means that, we can stand here and sit here with the assurance that truly we have seen the Lord and His Presence, and we have recognized Him and hungered for Truth. And, Lord, we believe that they who hunger and thirst after righteousness will certainly be filled and not turned away, and that’s what we believe is happening today—Word upon Word upon Word—until one day it’s over, the fullness of the full, and the people are taken away. Now unto the King eternal, immortal, invisible, we conclude this part of the service in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Amen. [Bro. Vayle continues with the Communion and Foot-washing service.]
