Spirit and Life ‘Pneuma and Zoe’ Bro. L. Vayle - June 10, 1987 Heavenly Father, we’ve been singing Thy praises. And now, Lord, we trust by the Word we will preach Thy praises, O God, for Thou art worthy. And we know, Lord, Thou art greatly worthy -- worthy to be praised, worthy of all thanksgiving, worthy especially of lives, Lord, that can be poured out and dedicated to You without fear... especially since you’ve given us, not the Spirit of fear, but of courage, love, and a sound mind. So, Lord, help us tonight in this study. We’ll be careful to praise Thy Name. In Jesus’ Name we pray. Amen. You may be seated. 1. Now, for three messages at Easter … actually, we took one that we recapped on Saturday morning, and then last Sunday we took three messages. And I’ve been trying to bring out the thought that the Scripture is very clear in expressing the Truth that God’s great eternal purpose for His sons and daughters is to have them live in physical bodies, under physical conditions that are set forth in the description of the New Jerusalem. Now, that, as far as we know --because the Bible does not take us beyond the New Jerusalem -- the description is very limited. The thought is, of course, that God is in complete preeminence, and the people are in complete harmony with God in this great physical realm that God desired to have, and at that time will have. And we will be sharing it with Him. So, as you look at what is to be achieved and is in process of being achieved -- which achievement is the Bride in her setting which is New Jerusalem -- you can see that this would be, without a doubt, the great purpose that God had, and has, and will consummate. 2. Now, this great plan started -- in other words, its inception -- this great plan started with God Himself who is Spirit and is invisible, whom no man has seen or can see … and so I say, this great plan started with this great God when He made Himself visible. That’s when it started, when He began to make Himself visible … when He made Himself visible by means of a substance that could be perceived by physically sensate beings. And especially, He was looking forward to the highest order of sensate beings which is man. So, we want to just remember that this great consummation of God’s great foreknowledge and God’s great blue-printing, this was made by a God who is invisible (who cannot be seen) but He desired that He would be seen by these physical sensate beings which, expressly, man is the main one. 3. Now … so God, then, began making Himself visible, and that’s when the plan started at that time. And you recall that Bro. Branham said, that “When God was there all by Himself, not a speck of star dust-- He had evidently created darkness-- dwelling in darkness, He said, ‘Let there be light.’” And that’s when it started. That’s not the conception now -- that is, of the Plan itself,that is the beginning of the Plan. Now, that substance was at times (that is, what God took on Himself, a substance) a Pillar of Fire, a rainbow, a cloud, a whirlwind, an angel , men-like beings, several other forms. But when God in the form of Christ came to us, that Christ -- a true and perfect expression, (for he was a true and perfect expression) of God’s entire substance, which substance was invisible Spirit, with all that Spirit’s attributes [was?] now capable of being manifest in flesh. And It did manifest Itself in Christ. So what you’re looking at, then, is God literally made visible. And all of God as pertaining to whatever He is, even as to attributes and characteristics, God was capable of literally manifesting that substance-wise. 4. Christ, according to Paul, was the ‘out-raying’, the out-raying. Now, you can understand that everything out-rays. There’s nothing that doesn’t really out-ray in the sense of some type of movement. Even rocks move, but they move so slowly you’d have to watch them a million years and you’d never see them. You’d just see where they’d moved from, maybe or something ...moving in, you know. But everything has movement. And when you speak of life as in contradistinction to the inanimate, the lifeless, there’s an out-raying. That’s been proven by the Kirlian photographs, and everything else. But anyway... we’re looking at this in the sense of a manifestation so that what you are looking at is something which is really coming forth from something else. (See?) So, therefore, according to Paul, in Hebrews, Christ was the ‘out-raying’ or the very Spirit of God emanating through Christ, who became, then, the expression of the intrinsic true God. And therein we had a true manifestation of God, because Christ Himself was the complete out-raying. (See?) Like, “Let there be light.” And the light came out. That doesn’t tell us too much. It just starts it. But when it came to God manifesting in Christ, it was literally God in human flesh, as we’ll see. So we see then, that this emanation, this out-raying, coming through Christ, in Christ, so that Christ, then, became the expression of the intrinsic God. And therein we had a true manifestation of God. And he who saw the Son for what he truly was, saw God. And he to whom the son was revealed, saw God. He who recognized the Son of God, saw God. 5. And of course, that is what you’re looking at in God in the office of Sonship. And you’ll see in Phil 2:5-7, the truth of it. (5) Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus (That is Messiah, Jehovah-Saviour) (6) Who, being in the form of God, (which would have to be intrinsically ‘Spirit’) thought it not (a prize to be grasped and retained) to be equal with God. (7) But (emptied himself of all reputation) made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant and was made in the likeness of men: So, you can see, here, we have the definitive transformation from Spirit --intrinsically, basically, only Spirit. Invisible, cannot be apprehended in any way except incorrectly, unless God should give the person some revelation. (See?) So, we see here He took on Himself another form, as Bro. Branham said, “Another mask." So, the invisible living Spirit-God was transformed into visible living Spirit-God by taking His attributes to make a physical visible life for Himself. Now, let me go over that again. So you keep (bear with me, now, because I’m reading my notes on purpose). The invisible living Spirit-God literally transformed Himself or was transformed, transfigured, into visible living Spirit-God -- invisible living Spirit-God to visible living Spirit-God -- by taking His attributes to make a physical visible life for Himself. 6. Now, that sounds a little bit hard, but... Let’s read some Scripture. Let’s go to Isaiah 9 (and we’ll see what I’m saying here):1-9. (1) Nevertheless the dimness shall not be such as it was in her vexation, when at the first he lightly afflicted the land of Zebulun... the land of Naphtali and afterward did more grievously afflict her by the way of the sea, beyond Jordan, in Galilee of the nations. (2) The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light: they that dwell in the land of the shadow of death, upon them (the light hath) shined. In other words, there’s an out-raying or an emanation. And, when you’re dealing with God, then you would have to be saying this is something that God is doing, per se, for the people. (3) Thou has multiplied the nation, and not increased the joy: they joy before thee according to the joy in harvest and as men rejoice when they divide the spoil. (In other words, we’re seeing results, good solid results so we’re rejoicing, something to rejoice about.) (4) For thou has broken the yoke (off) of his burden, and the staff of his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, as in the day of Midian. (5) For every battle of the warrior is ...confused noise, and garments rolled in blood; but this shall be with burning and fuel of fire. (6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the govern- ment shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) (And) of the increase of his government and peace (there’ll) be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to order it, and to establish it with judgment and with justice from hence- forth even for ever: The zeal ... God’s own inspiration over His plan is literally going to put into effect the wisdom that God has within Himself for this. It’s going to inspire His omnipotence to perform it. All right, I want you to notice what it says, (6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: ...the government ...upon his shoulder ...his name shall be called Wonderful, (And that’s one of the names of Godhead, pure and simple) Counselor, ...mighty God ...everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. So, here you can see what God is doing. He is definitely going to do something about His invisible nature and bring it into the visible. 7. Now, let’s just thumb back here to Deuteronomy 18 (and we want to see something here) and it’s the 15 verse, starting: (15) The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him you shall hearken; (All right, “ Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given”, unto us a prophet is coming on the scene.) (16) According to all that thou desirest of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. All right, what was the great fire? It was the veil of God at that time. It was the substance from an out-raying of God, creation, so God could veil Himself. (17) ... the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. (18) I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth: and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him. (He said, “Only what I hear my Father say, I say.”) (19) ...(it’ll) come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. Now, notice, he said, “I come in my Father’s Name; I tell you in my Father’s Words. I’m fulfilling exactly what Moses said and you’re not listening.” (See?) Now, remember, he knew all about Isaiah. 8. All right, Num 11:17 … (I think we might find something there.) Now, this is God speaking to Moses. (17) And I will come down and talk with thee there: and I will take of the spirit which is upon thee, and will put it upon them; and they shall bear the burden of the people with thee, that thou (dost not) bear it ... alone. 9. All right, now, just hold that in mind and in Mt 17:5, (5) While he yet spake, behold a bright cloud overshadowed them: and behold a voice out of the cloud, which said, This is my beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased; hear you him. Now, put it together. And in there you see a child is going to be born, the son is going to be given. He’s going to be Emmanuel, God with us; the government upon his shoulder, the mighty God and everlasting Father, and so on. His government shall not cease. And remember, the government that doesn’t cease is the only government that is eternal and would have to be God’s, because in Jesus, God is putting everything under His feet excepting Himself until such a time as the Kingdom is handed back. So you’re looking at what is intrinsically the Kingdom which is coming more and more into what God wanted it from the blueprint that was in God’s mind even before that light came forth. (See?) “Like a child, (Bro. Branham said,) playing around the Father’s Throne.” Then you’ll notice he says, “The one that this is, is a prophet.” 10. Then, I read you in Numbers how that God could take the spirit off of Moses, Jesus, like unto him, and put it on others. Then, “This is my beloved Son, In whom I am well pleased.” And remember, he said, “I’ll not leave you Comfortless; I will come to you.” Now, I hope you’re getting what I’m looking at without (you know) taking an awful lot of material, here. Just drawing you your picture, showing you that all this runs right together perfectly. We’re dealing with God and what is coming out here, because we’re dealing with Jesus, the son, in human form. Now, we want to pay attention to what I’ve been constantly saying here, and that is: The invisible Spirit-God, took of His own attributes to make a physical form and dwelt in it. That’s what you saw here, and then I jumped to show you ...He said, “I will send you another Comforter....” or the Father will, sending in my Name. Now, He said, “He will come; I will come; We will come.” So you’re looking at that, as we know, that Jesus came back in the form of the Holy Spirit. (I just want to draw your attention). 11. Now, so the invisible Spirit-God took of His own attributes to make a physical form and dwell in it. Okay, you can see that in Lk 1:26, beginning, (26) And... the sixth month the angel Gabriel was sent from God (into) a city of Galilee, named Nazareth, (27) To a virgin espoused to a man whose name was Joseph (Now, virgin ...she’s going to bear a child) of the house of David; (that is, of David’s lineage) and the virgin’s name was Mary. So, you’re coming to the seed of the woman. Now, woman of herself doesn’t have seed. See? But if a baby was born, there’s seed there just the same. It takes two to make one, of course. (28) ...the angel came in unto her, and said, Hail, thou that art highly favoured, the Lord is with thee: blessed art thou among women. (29) And when she saw him, she was troubled at his saying, and cast in her mind, what manner of salutation this should be. (30) And the angel said unto her, Fear not, Mary: for thou hast found favour with God. (31) And, behold, thou shalt conceive in thy womb, and bring forth a son, and shalt call his name (Jehovah-Saviour) (32) (And) He shall be great, and shall be called the Son of the Highes: (Now, that’s Jesus that’s born of Mary, the ‘Son of the Highest’. Okay... or the Scripture said, ‘the only Begotten of God’.) and the Lord God shall give unto him the throne of his father David: (33) And he shall reign over the house of Jacob for ever; and of his kingdom there shall be no end. 12. That’s exactly true. Of that Kingdom that God sets up, there’s no end. And you will see this One reigning over it. And then he becomes like ‘sub-ruler’... you know, with the Pillar of Fire above him, the New Jerusalem. (34) (And Mary said to the angel, How is this thing going to be, seeing I do not know a man? I’m not even really married to Joseph at this time, in union.) (35) And the angel ...said (Now watch) ...the Holy Ghost shall come upon thee and the power of the Highest shall overshadow thee: therefore also that holy thing which shall be born of thee shall be called the Son of God. (This is the begetting of the son that come forth from the womb of Mary.) (36) And, behold, thy cousin Elisabeth, she hath also conceived a son in her old age: and this is the sixth month with her (which) was called barren. (37) For with God (being Present, God being absolutely here)... Now, it wasn’t some little whimsical story being told here, that … “the Holy Ghost is going to overshadow you, so it’s kind of little play-thing in your mind, while it really isn’t true that God is going to do this. We just sort of imagine these things. And, you know, they...” 13. Now, listen! That’s entirely erroneous. That’s the kind of stupid concept that denies the Presence of God now. (See?) And we can’t have any folly like that. So, the Angel of the Lord is telling her exactly what’s going to happen. He’s introducing her to the fact that what you’re going to say is literally (you might say) ‘begetting’ which is the process of the emission of sperm to unite with an egg to bring forth a child. Now, what’s God going to do, here? Well, you know as well as I do there’s no such thing as God fertilizing a human egg and going to bring forth a demi-god. Now, the heathen believe in that kind of hogwash. And the modern heathen believes a spirit’s going to have intercourse and bring forth, you know... (Oh, my! There’s so many heathen around and nobody seems to pick it up except a few little foolish people, like us. But it’s good there’s somebody picks it up.) So she said, “How’s it going to be done?” And he said, “God Himself who is a creator is going to do it the same as He did Adam. He created and He formed. Only in this case, God creates and the woman forms by virtue of her being a chemical factory whereby that which God solely created is now sustained until he comes forth. But it was begotten of God. Joseph didn’t do it and Mary didn’t do it. So, you see, the forming -- the creating and the forming. So what He did there, He made that substance. 14. Now, also you notice here, in Jn 1:32-34, about this son, and it said: (32) ...John bare record, saying, I saw the spirit descending from heaven like a dove, Now, that wasn’t at the time of his begetting. Although it’s the same One. See? You notice what happened-- begetting, which was God literally transfiguring Himself into a human form, starting with the egg and the sperm, there. And, in a grown man, thirty years or so, the Spirit descending from heaven like a dove, (32) ... and it abode upon him. (33) And I knew (not that this was the Messiah that I was supposed to forerun, but the One that sent me, which was God, telling me to baptize with water.)... the same said... Upon whom you see the Spirit descending, and remaining on him, the same is he which baptizeth with the Holy Ghost. (34) And I saw, and bare record that this is the Son of God. Now, that’s the Bible. You’ve just got to believe the Bible. (See?) Now, the form that John saw was not God, but it was begotten of God. The form was a man. It was living flesh. It was a flesh and bone and blood body. And in its anatomical structure and body chemistry and functions, it was a man’s body, absolutely, from the cradle to his death. And I’m speaking in terms of human sensate people, not immortal people. After his death he was immortal. 15. Now, listen. It was the pneuma [4151 pnyoo( - mah], which is spirit. It was the pneuma of God turned into the zoe [2222 dzo - ay(] of God. It was God, Holy Spirit, Elohim, His very Presence that came to Mary and in a creative act of Himself. Now, it’s not a creative act that He Himself did, but a creative act of Himself. Now, I’m going to lose you there because I’m going to lose myself there. But I can’t help it. This is one of the great mysteries, not of the trinity, but of God. (See?) It was God, Holy Spirit, Elohim, His very Personal Presence that came to Mary and in a creative act of Himself, wherein He reduced all of His attributes and His Own Being. Iin other words, His Own essentiality and intrinsically what He was-- to a sperm and egg, and did, by the virgin’s body, bring forth His Own flesh body. Just the same as He said, “Let there be light”, and there was light. Just like He could take a handful of dust and form it right into a being or take an angel, inhabit him, whatever God wanted. God created Himself in the form of human flesh. 16. And you’ll notice that’s what Bro. Branham used concerning over here in the book of Rev 3:14. (And he used it in other places also.) He told me this a long time back and I wasn’t up to the place where I could even know what he was saying. So I couldn’t do anything with it. (I got to be honest with you.) (14) And unto the (messenger which is) in the church of the Laodiceans write; These things saith the Amen, the faithful and true witness, the beginning of the creation of God; (God beginning to form Himself into human flesh). So, what we’re looking at, here, and what Bro. Branham said, was a “Transformation, a transfiguration”… what we’re looking at. Okay... Emmanuel, God-with-us, as the Bible so clearly says. God was now in the office of Sonship. 17. So, we go back to Isa 9:6-11, this time: (6) For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: … his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The Mighty God, The Everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. (7) (And) the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end... (and so on.) All right. This is God, then, in the office of Sonship because He begot him through His Own creative act, distilling Himself as it were, all of His attributes and whatsoever He was -- and, being Spirit, adding to it materiality which then was a literal son of God, and then God came down and filled him. So this would be God in the office of Sonship. Not a matter of God the Son; that isn’t true. The very Bible said he’s the image of God, and an image is not the person. That’s why God said, “Don’t you dare make an image, because I’m going to make My Own image.” That’s why there’s an image to the Beast. You see, the hierarchy of the world … they’re ‘imaging’ what is here in the spiritual, and God has to put the flesh on His Own spiritual. You start doing it, and you mess up like Hogan’s goat. And the world’s messed up. (See?) They won’t let God put His Own image on His Own blueprint. Which is merely saying , God is bringing into substance what was in His mind and what lay in God, because that’s what God wanted. Now, of course, what I said is way beyond my thinking... my own thinking, it’s true. I just take what the Prophet said and try to express it. Try to give it out and see how you feel about it and how you might follow it... at least at this point. So, what we’re looking at is pneuma becoming zoe …(See?) Pneuma, spirit, becoming zoe which is life. And that is, apparently, how Adam was first a pneuma life-form and then he became a zoe life-form. 18. So let’s look at that in the Book of Gen 1:26... (they already mentioned that tonight, but we look back at it again, and see it.) Okay. (26) And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, ...cattle ...over all the earth, ...every creeping thing that (creeps on) the earth. (27) So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them (28) And (He said) ...Be fruitful and multiply, ...replenish the earth, subdue it: (and so on and so on) Now, to replenish the earth and subdue it doesn’t mean you’re going to have something that you can’t control. It means ‘keep it in order’. You have the order over it. You see, it’s under you ...fowl of the air and everything else. Now, the next thing we look at... [Genesis 1:] (29) ...Behold, I have given you every herb bearing seed (and so on) and every tree, in the which is the fruit of (the) tree, yielding seed; (it’ll be to you) for meat. 19. Now, we go to [Gen] 2:7, and it says: (7) And the Lord God formed [3335 yâtsar …yaw-tsar(] (It doesn’t say He created; it says He ‘formed’, and those words in the Hebrew are two different things -- bârâ [1254 baw-raw(…to create] is one; I forget the other) ...of the dust of the ground. Now, soul is not dust; spirit is not dust. This is physical material that is inanimate within itself but can be animated when you’re taking the chemicals from it to supply what God has said here, which is, life in the physical. So He... (7) ...formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul. Now, over here he was a spirit-being. Now here, he’s a living spirit-soul-being encased in a human body, and he’s under zoe. Not just under pneuma, because pneuma cannot be seen. It’s like the wind -- you know it’s there, but you can’t see it. 20. Okay. This also clues us into the words of Jesus in Jn 17:5. (5) ...now, O Father, glorify thou me with thine own self with the glory which I had with thee before the world was. Now, you can’t deny that. Now such, as it says ... [John 1:] (1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. And then in Jn 1:14. (14) And the Word (became) flesh, and dwelt among us ... So, you’re looking back here, at the fact where Bro. Branham categorically states, “That Jesus had a preexistence. And the only reason he could remember and could make this statement was that he had a body. And we bypassed our theophany,” as he said. So this begins to give you a little understanding here, how God does things. Now, I know, it’s not going to solve the riddle as to why God should do it and how it can be made very plain to you so that we can just go ahead and, you know, become like a part of our nature to us. This throws me for a loop every single time, but I believe it. I’m not going to get up here and tell you I understand this, but I can see what’s happened. 21. Here’s somebody saying, “Give me the glory I had with you.” Well, is that bunch... Is that Jesus talking and spouting off like some idiot?... some raving maniac? “Oh, I had glory with the Father. Hallelujah!” Not some nut, like you and I see come in off the street, or somebody in an Insane Institution. This was the man that cast the devils out of people. And he said, “I was there.” And a prophet comes on the scene, a Mal 4: 5 and 6, to reveal all the secrets which have not been revealed even from before the foundation of the world. And he said, “He was up there in a theophonic body; that’s why he remembers.” That blows your mind. Well, let it blow your mind! It’s still true. (I don’t give a rip.) And it says, (14) And the Word (became) flesh... In other words, the expression. God desiring to express Himself, and in His being able to do it, He expressed Himself. And the expression of God came out this man. Now, that stumbles anybody … but doesn’t if you just believe it. There’s no problem. (See?) It’s still a mystery, but so what? 22. Now, to see the correctness of this, let us look at the Book of John and see how ‘zoe’ or life is used. (And, I’m going to look at some Scripture.) Now, remember, zoe pertains to the life-principle from God. That’s from God on down through His creation to man, animals, birds, and even plants as we saw in Revelation 22 -- the Tree of Zoe -- and they ate it. And Bro. Branham said, “They ate the leaves to keep the peace.” Why? I don’t know. Ask the prophet. But he said it. Now, it’s hard to accept that. Why do you need peace when everybody’s glorified? Well, ask God. Don’t ask me. I can’t tell you the answer. But this tests our faith, whether we really believe the prophet or don’t believe or we want to mess around a little bit. Now, if you want to mess around, you’re shot already, because you’ll mess around. In other words, it’s just like sex: if you want to mess around, ruin what God had for it, go ahead and ruin it. It’s supposed to be in marriage, in wedlock where it belongs, to bring forth right. So you mess around with this marriage of God, He’ll divorce you! Ppttt!... just like that. (Aha... hope you caught what I’m saying now, because I brought it right back to Scripture.) He said, “I’ve espoused you as a chased virgin.” You start messing around with this Word, and there’s three ways to mess around: with another gospel, with another spirit, with another Christ. And Bro. Branham said, “You’ve got to give back to God what is right.” And in there he used the illustration of the three sonships: son of Man, son of God, son of David. So [if] you want to be in the right class, you’d better know (you know) what you’re looking at here. 23. So, all right... the Tree of Life from God on down-- zoe: the zoe of God, the zoe of man, the zoe of birds, the zoe of animals, the zoe of trees, the zoe of insects (I suppose) … because it is a life-principle we are looking at. Now, I hope you’re catching this, because I showed you: pneuma went to zoe. ...?... that’s what God wanted was zoe. He already had pneuma but He didn’t have zoe, because you got to put pneuma into material. Okay... Now, this is not pantheism -- no way stretch of the imagination, although people might think it is. 24. It is Col 1:15-17, this talking of the son: (15) Who is the image (now, it said the ‘image’) of the invisible God (There it’s used again) the firstborn of every creature. (Now it’s an image to make visible the invisible, the firstborn of every creature.) (16) For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and ... in earth, visible and invisible (you can’t see angels unless they want to be seen) whether they be thrones (that’s invisible, that is as to the power; you can’t see but you see the throne which represents the invisible)... or principalities or powers: all things were created by him, and for him. (17) And he is before all things, and by him all things consist (or are maintained.) So that’s what you’re looking at. You’re not looking at pantheism, but you are looking at God who invisible, desired to show forth what lay within Him so He put a substance out here to it and made sensate beings to be able to apprehend it and enjoy it. (See?) Because Adam and Eve couldn’t till the ground in a spirit-body. And then, soon as they got a physical body, He put them in a Garden, in the government of God. And He said, “Now, you are employed by me and you are sub-rulers under me. You are sub-gods, demi-gods, under me to do this. So we see what we’re looking at, here, is God doing it all and manifesting Himself thereby, because you can see God in nature. People can understand God by nature. The trouble is people are so insane, this... you know, they can’t even see that. 25. Now, this is God sharing His Own Life with His sons and daughters. That’s right, God sharing His Own Life because we were in Him. Okay. This is God taking on zoe --now watch: This is God (what we’re looking at, Christ) taking on zoe --pneuma to zoe, (See?) and zoe to pneuma in life-principle as it consists here, because a spirit can’t die and bleed. So, this is God taking on zoe for the sake of ‘fallen zoe’. Adam could not fall in pneuma. And he never fell in pneuma, the spirit stage. He fell in the physical stage. (See?) So you just keep all this in mind. Now, this is God taking on zoe for the sake of fallen zoe, for it is in Himself (See?), His very attributes, to do so. (See?) In Him was zoe. In whom? Pneuma. (See?) So, what has He done? He is able to take it on. Listen, again... This is God taking on zoe for the sake of fallen zoe, for it is in Himself, His very attributes, to do so. He must do so, or not be God. (Do you all follow what I’m saying? You’re sure looking blank. It’s not hard at all, if you just listen to what I’m saying because I’ve written it down carefully.) This is God taking on zoe (See?) for the sake of fallen zoe, for it is in Himself, His very attributes, to do so. 26. How could He do it if it wasn’t in Himself? God can’t manufacture Himself. He can do a lot of things with you and me but He can’t do a thing about Himself. Or the next question is, “Who made God?” (See?) Now, this ...this boggles your mind and makes you even scared to die and wonder what’s on the other side of the curtain (if you let your mind go). Nobody can answer these questions. I’m just telling you what I see here in the Word of God and what the prophet taught. Okay... read again. (I’ll read more this time.) 27. This is God taking on zoe (or this is pneuma taking on zoe -- the Pneuma-God becoming Zoe-God) for the sake of fallen zoe, for it is in Himself, His very attributes, to do so. He must do so or not be God, the true God in His true character. Now that’s where people can’t stand Jesus, because they say, “Well, how could he be God in the true character?” Well, you don’t know God; you’re not willing to learn. (See?) Crackpots. That’s right, crackpots... broken vessels; cisterns that leak. You know, the world’s going around thinking the guy on the street, the people out there that go [Bro. Vayle makes a noise to imitate the stereo-typical insane person] like that, they’re the ‘psycho-ceramics’. Oh, no...it’s the guys in the churches, in the pews and the intelligentsia that are the ‘psycho-ceramics’; they’re the crackpots. You bet! They’re the ones that are flawed. Don’t mind a few people that are insane; just pray for them. I’m going to tell you what: They’re fine. On the Day of Judgment they’ll be fine, along side of these birds. They’re the ones. (See?) They don’t want this. 28. Now, let’s just look then at the gospel of John and some of the verses which deal with pneuma, which is spirit. Jn 1:32, we read it: (32) ...I saw the Spirit (of God) descending... Jn 1:33 ...That’s where God says to John, (33) ...(on whom you see) the Spirit descending, Then Jesus, in Jn 3:5 said, (5) (You must) be born of water and of ...spirit... (And then he says again in verse 6.) (6) ...that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. (Pneuma, pneuma.) (8) ...so is every one that is born of (pneuma.) (34) ...God giveth not (His pneuma) by measure (that’s to Christ. Why? Because God just went into him.) And then in John 4: (23) (They that worship God must) worship the Father in Spirit and in truth. (24) God is (pneuma. See? And you’ve got to worship Him in spirit and truth.) [John 6:] In [verse] 63 it says, (63) It is (pneuma) that quickeneth: the words that I speak they are (pneuma) and they are life. [End of side 1, Tape 1] “The words that I speak are pneuma and zoe”. And you can think ...now, if you follow what I’ve been teaching, you can figure that right now. You know just where to take it. And then in Jn 7:30-39, when he spoke of the living water, he spoke of the spirit which was not yet given because he was not yet glorified. [John 11:] (33) ...he groaned in (his pneuma)... And [John] 13: (21) ...he was troubled in (his pneuma,) And John 14: he promised, (17) ...the (pneuma) of Truth; [John] 15: again, (26) ...the Spirit of truth, (pneuma.) [John] 16: again; (13) ...the spirit of truth, (pneuma.) And then in Acts 2:4, it was the pneuma that gave them utterance. In Acts 4:17, [2:17] God promised to pour out His Spirit, His pneuma. 29. Okay. Let’s talk about life. [ John] 1: (4) … in him was (zoe), and the (zoe) was the light of men. In [John] 3: (15) ...(shall) not perish (shall not lose this zoe, but you can keep it always... See?( Okay. [John] 3: (36) ...(believes) on the Son (has) everlasting (zoe): [John] 4: (14) ...a well of water springing up into everlasting (zoe). (36) ...(gathering) fruit unto eternal (zoe). That’s why you’re told now to sow. So, when at the White Throne -- not so much the White Throne, but at the Presentation Seat, I suppose it is … more like the Judgment Seat, because it’s really a seat of presentation or declaration -- that’s when you will find that even a glass of cold water gets a reward. How much more, then, kind words and encouragement and all those other things. Laying up treasure while you’ve got a chance. That’s right. Right now you can be doing something to receive you into the everlasting habitations of your zoe. Now, if you’re pneuma-minded, your zoe’s going to come right out on top. Now, if you’re carnal-minded, your zoe is going to suffer. You may even die and lose it, because it said, “Fear him that can destroy both body and soul in hell.” 30. Okay... [John] 5: (24) (Jesus was sent that they might have) everlasting (zoe). And if you believe on him, you’ve passed from death unto everlasting (zoe... to life; See?...the zoe.) (26) For as the Father hath life in himself... (he hath) given to the Son to have life in himself. (They both got zoe...See?) In other words, God positively had the ability to come forth into a human form or to have a human form from Himself that He could actually be in and, literally, present to Himself. That’s you and me... you and I, Bride. He’s able to present us faultless before the Throne. (See?) And you’ll be in bodies... like he said, “Handle me and see, a pneuma does not have flesh and bone, but a zoe does.” (You see?) But you’ve got to have pneuma before you got zoe. There’s got to be a life there. 31. Now, he said in 29, [John 5:] (29) (Some are going to come forth) unto the resurrection of (zoe)... Now, he said, [John 5:] (39) Search the Scripture; ...in them you think you have... (zoe). Then he said, in verse 40. (40) (You won’t) come to me, that you might have (zoe). (That’s everlasting ...?... . You got this kind of life here now that was in the blueprint of God. But if you want to see the real thing, it’s glorification.) And in [John] 6: he said, (27) (...to seek for the bread that endures unto everlasting zoe. And this is the bread that gives everlasting life, or zoe, to the world. And those that believe, “I’m the bread of zoe.)” If you believe on Christ, you have everlasting zoe. Now, you notice in here that the word ‘eternal’ and ‘everlasting’ --that’s the key to really watch because otherwise zoe is just a principle and an animal can have it. And yet, you know, what’s to stop an animal from coming back in a resurrection and have a body that doesn’t change? Bro. Branham saw his horse and I have no doubt... because it says, “The lion is going to lay down with the ox.” A lion eat straw like an ox. Now, that’s the Holy Mountain, that’s Zion. So you’re looking at something here that’s very wonderful in God’s eternal purpose. (See?) 32. [John 6:] (35) I am the bread of (zoe)... (51) (And…) I will give (he said, “My life or my body, my blood and all for the life of the world--for the zoe of the world which is here. If you don’t drink His blood, you’ve got no zoe in you. What we’re talking about is the real thing, now -- the eternal zoe.) (54) (He that drinketh mybBlood hath eternal zoe.) (63) (He said) They are...(I guess that’s ‘my Words’ again...My Words, they are) spirit and they are life. (68) (And he said, “Nobody but you have the Words of eternal life.” That’s true; Christ alone had them.) And then, Jesus said, [John 8:] (12) ...but you shall have the light of life. And, [John 10:] (10) I am come that they might have life. Now, notice, in here... This is different, now watch: (11) (He) giveth his (psuche) [5590 psoo-khay(] for the sheep. Now, he lays down zoe and he’ll take it again. But that isn’t what does it. It’s the psuche; it’s the soul. You notice in here, carefully...?... this lines with the Old Testament, where it says ‘soul’ in Isaiah 53: “He giveth his soul for the sheep.” (15) I lay down my (soul) for the sheep (.... “because I lay down my soul for the sheep. And then I give unto them eternal zoe, because I laid down my life.” And He couldn’t lay down His soul until He became zoe, until he became a life-principle.) He had to associate Himself with you and me and we are sensate creatures. And let me tell you, you get out of your body and wherever you go (I don’t care where you go... to that weary, eerie Never-Never Land or the Paradise of God) you will have ceased from sinning. You’ll be the same person, but what are you going to sin with? (See?) You say, “Well, I’ll sin with my mind.” You already did that. [John 10:] (28) I give... them eternal (zoe). [John 11:] (25) I am the resurrection and the (zoe) [John 12:] (25) He that loveth his (soul) shall lose it; ...he that hateth his (soul) in this world shall (save) it. (And they shall keep it unto everlasting zoe.) His commandment is everlasting zoe. “I lay down my soul for my sheep. I will lay down my life for thy sake. Wilt thou lay down thy soul? I will lay down my soul for your sake”, he said. “And will you lay down your soul for my sake?” 33. [John 14:] (6) I am the way, the truth and the (zoe). [John 15:] (13) (The greatest thing a man can do is lay down his soul for his friends.) Not just zoe, now. Paul said, “I could wish myself accursed for my brethren.” In other words, where the thing goes right down deep all the way, as it were, to the heart. [John 17:] (2) ...(shall) give eternal life to as many as (believe). (3) ...this is life eternal, that they might know... the only true God, (and so on... They might have eternal life, which is zoe, ...made known to me the ways of zoe.) Now, I just wanted to show you that there to get your picture. 34. Now, when Jesus died, his spirit ,or pneuma, went back to God. Now, let’s look at it. Now, we’re looking at actual words here. That’s in Lk 23:46. (46) And when Jesus... cried with a loud voice, he said, Father, into thy hands I commend my (pneuma): and having said thus, he gave up the (pneuma). I don’t know why they didn’t put “spirit” in both places, or “ghost” in both places. I don’t know what’s wrong. But “pneuma” is in both places. 35. Let’s look at Acts 2:25-31. (25) For David speaketh concerning him (that’s the Lord Jesus Christ), I foresaw the Lord always before my face, for he is on my right hand, that I should not be moved: (26) Therefore did my heart rejoice, and my tongue was glad; moreover also my flesh shall rest in hope: (Notice that.) (27) Because thou wilt not leave my soul in hell, (Now his flesh is resting …[in]?… hope, because the life went out of it. The pneuma went back to God; the soul went to hell. Exactly, See?) neither wilt thou suffer thine Holy One to see corruption. (28) Thou hast made known to me the ways of life; thou shalt make me full of joy with thy countenance. (29) Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. (30) Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; (31) He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither did his flesh see corruption. (So, the flesh was in the grave, the soul was in hell. Right! Then,) (32) This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we are all witnesses. (33) Therefore, being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear. (34) For (it was not David, himself that) ascended into heaven: but (it was David that said), The Lord said (to) my lord, Sit ..on my right hand, (35) Until I make thy foes thy footstool. So, you see right in here exactly what happened. And so there’s... you’ve got to watch your divisions at least I would think you would, in order to get some more understanding. And so you understand, here, what I’m saying. It is set forth as Alpha --the Alpha, in Gen 1:11-12 and is an irrevocable or inviolable principle of God to be the Omega of this day. 36. So let’s go back to Genesis 1: (all right)11-12. (11) And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, ‘Whose seed is in itself’… Now, the tree is itself, right? Hunh? And the seed is in the tree. And the life is in the seed. [Of] course, because the life came into the seed, came from the tree ...the tree’s got life. (12) And the earth brought forth grass, and herb yielding seed after his kind, and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself, after his kind: and God saw that it was good. (Okay. Do you believe that?) All right, now God’s own Life formed a seed. God was a Tree in whom was life. And life had to become a seed to propagate itself-- no transplants, no cloning, no snipping. (Although, you can use the word ‘branch’; you can get away with it on the principle of grafting. But just leave that be, because I’m not talking about that. I’m talking about ‘Tree of Life’) The life had to become a seed. And as seed, it could form itself and manifest itself as to what its life really was. Right? Sure! You can look at a seed. What’s a seed? A little speck. But in the seed there is life of the original tree. (Now, we’re looking at the fauna, out here... biological. See? Okay.) It could manifest itself as to what it really was. 37. Okay... Let’s go to Ps 22:30 ( I hope we’ve got time to finish this tonight): (30) A seed shall serve him; it (it --the seed) shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. Okay. What’s the context?... (Oh, my! All these verses). [Psalm 22:] (1) My God, my God, why hast thou forsaken me? Why art thou so far from helping me, and from the words of my roaring? (2) O my God, I cry in the daytime, but thou hearest not; and in the night season, and am not silent. (3) But thou art holy, O thou that inhabitest the praises of Israel. (4) Our fathers trusted in thee: they trusted, and thou didst deliver them. (5) They cried unto thee, and were delivered: they trusted in thee, and were not confounded. (6) But I am a worm, and no man; a reproach of men, and despised of (all) people. (You see, he’s going down his genealogy; he’s part of the Hebrew race.) (7) All they that see me laugh me to scorn: they shoot out the lip, (and) shake the head, saying, (8) He trusted on the Lord that he would deliver him: let him deliver him, seeing he delighted in him (9) But thou art he that took me out of the womb: thou didst make me hope when I was upon my mother’s breasts. (10) I was cast upon thee from the womb: thou art my God from my mother’s belly. (Sure, because God was his Father... there’s no earthly father, then.) (11) Be not far from me; for trouble is near; for there is none to help. (12) Many bulls have (encompassed) me: strong bulls of Ba’shan have beset me... (13) They gaped upon me with their mouths, as a ravening and roaring lion. (14) I am poured out like water, and all my bones are out of joint; my heart is like wax; it is melted in the midst of my bowels. (This is David’s psalm with the Spirit of Christ upon him.) (15) My strength is dried up like a potsherd; (That’s a piece of a broken pot ...potsherd) and my tongue cleaveth to my jaws; and thou hast brought me into the dust of death. (16) For dogs have compassed me: the assembly of the wicked have inclosed me: they pierced my hands and my feet. (17) I may tell all my bones: they look and stare upon me. (18) They part my garments among them, and cast lots upon my vesture. (19) But be not thou far from me, O Lord: O my strength, haste thee to help me. (20) Deliver my soul from the sword; my darling from the power of the dog. (21) Save me from the lion’s mouth: for thou hast heard me from the horns of the unicorns. (22) I will declare thy name unto my brethren: in the midst of the congregation will I praise thee. (23) Ye that fear the Lord, praise him: all ye ...seed of Jacob, glorify him; and fear him, all ye ...seed of Israel. (24) For he hath not despised nor abhorred the affliction of the afflicted; neither hath he hid his face from him; but when he cried unto him, he heard (him). (25) My praise shall be (to) thee in the great congregation: I will pay my vows before them that fear (thee). (26) The meek shall eat and be satisfied: they shall praise the Lord that seek him: your heart shall live for ever. (27) All the ends of the world shall remember and turn unto the Lord: and all the kindreds of the nations shall worship before thee. (28) For the kingdom is the Lord’s: and he is the governor among the nations. (29) All they that be fat upon the earth shall eat and worship: all they that go down to the dust shall bow before him: and none can keep (his own soul alive... can’t do it, see?) alive his own soul. (30) A seed shall serve him; (See? There you are; that’s the seed he’s talking about. See? All right … and) it shall be accounted to the Lord for a generation. In other words …counted for a generation? Now, people want to trace that back to the genealogy of Matthew. I don’t say that’s true; I’d sooner believe it this way: That we are one generation, in Christ. We are the generation, the children of God, though it took many many years to bring forth. We are of one Spirit. And now, out of one flesh, ‘like unto him’ . 38. Okay. All right... with that, we’re going to read Isa 53:10. What does it say here? (10) Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed... (Who’s doing this? God’s doing this. Whose seed? God’s seed. See? ... seed of the woman, seed of Abraham) he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand. (11) He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied; by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify the many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Okay, let’s read it in context. [Isaiah 53:] (1) Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the Lord revealed? (2) For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him. (3) He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, … acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised and we esteemed him not. (4) Surely he hath borne our grief, and carried our sorrows; yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. (That’s the best we could do, is kill him.) (5) But he was wounded for our transgressions, … bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; …(by) his stripes we are healed. (6) All we like sheep have gone astray; ...turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. (7) He was oppressed... he was afflicted, … he opened not his mouth: (Isaiah, you see, with the Spirit of Christ on him.) he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, … a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. (8) He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? ...he was cut off out of the land of the living: (There’s your zoe.) for the transgression of my people was he stricken. (There’s the body and the zoe going out the Blood and all.) (9) ...made his grave with the wicked... rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. My sister said Bro. Branham’s handwriting showed no deceit. So that’s a tremendous testimony. She said, “This man is certainly different.” Now, yours and mine will show deceit. (10) Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin (“I lay down my soul for my sheep” ... See?) he shall see his seed. 39. In other words, this is the one way to bring the seed back into right manifestation. Now, let’s keep that seed in mind; we haven’t finished yet. Okay, [Isaiah 53:] (11) He shall see the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify the many; Notice what the death did? And yet the person himself must be justified. In other words, the death of Jesus Christ does not atone unless you go through what God wants you to go through, what that bought for you. That bought you Water Baptism and the Baptism with the Holy Ghost. Okay. (12) Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of (the) many, and made intercession for (those) transgressors. (...every single one of them) 40. Okay, Gal 3:16 and we read on, (16) Now to Abraham, and his seed were the promises made. He saith not, And to seeds, as of many; but as of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (See?) The seed of God-- Life in it, and “it bringeth forth after his kind.” So, what kind of a God is it when you saw Jesus? That kind of a God. And that really confuses people, because everybody’s got his own ideas. “Oh, he shouldn’t have whipped those poor guys in the temple. He shouldn’t have walked by the people that were sick. He shouldn’t have done this. He should [do] this; he should do that.” No... the best estimation was, “Kill him! Crucify him! Get rid of him.” That’s all. No beauty, nothing to see... and yet people are looking for some big thing at the end-time. If you’re not looking for the ugly side, brother/sister, the uneducated side, the humble side, you’re wrong. It’s going plumb over your heads. (See?) Now, this is a simple lesson in Biology, so to speak...not really. It’s spiritual. (16) ...And to seeds, as of many; but (as) of one, And to thy seed, which is Christ. (17) And this I say, that the covenant, that was confirmed before of God in Christ, the law, which was four hundred and thirty years after, (it) cannot disannul ...(In other words, it can’t take it away. Every time you hear something taken away, what does your mind think of? What chapter in Revelation? 22! Can’t add or take... See?) that it should make the promise of none effect. (18) For if the inheritance be of … law, it is no more of promise: but God gave it to Abraham by promise. (19) Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of (transgressors,) till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; (What seed’s going to come? It’s the promise-- Christ’s going to come to Israel. Now, we’ve got a promise. He’s going to come to the Gentiles; do the same things all over again.) And it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator. (That is, just came right down to earth and did the thing.) (20) Now a mediator is not... of one, but God is one. Now, it tells you right here: God did His own mediating. What’s He doing now? Didn’t He come down without holding court, says, “You’re righteous; you’re blameless”? Didn’t He bring Luke 18 to pass based on Luke 17? All right, (21) Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: (What’s the catch?) for if there had been a law given which could have given life, verily righteousness should have been by the law, (But there wasn’t a law given. So, it’s not in conflict, then. The law is not in conflict; it’s something different entirely.) (22) But the scripture hath concluded all under sin, that the promise by faith of Jesus Christ might be given to them that believe. 41. Now, before faith came, we were kept under the law, shut up under the faith which would have to be revealed. Now, listen: there’s a promise in this hour that we’re not going to die. There’s a promise of the seed that’s going to be here. Now, there’s a lot of conditions in Scripture that could stop it, one of which definitely is: “It’s appointed unto man once to die, and after that the judgment.” But now Paul brings in a great mystery (and we’re going to talk about it, too) and he said, “Behold, I show you a mystery: we won’t all sleep but we’ll all be changed.” Now, there’s a law laid down there. Now, that law cannot bring life; it brings death because it says it brings death. Now, what is going to bring Life? The Seed, coming at the right time because there is a promise of the Seed: “The Lord Himself shall descend from Heaven with a Shout, with the Voice of the archangel and Trump of God”. Now, you say, “Why Seed?” Because it’s going to manifest into Life. And I showed you how Christ was a prophet and he stays in the prophet image. God was in the prophets. (See?) Just watch those things. I can’t put them all together; I haven’t got time. (24) Wherefore the law was (a) schoolmaster to bring us (to) Christ, that we might be justified by faith. (25) But after ...faith is come (That is, the divine revelation of this hour, then you are not under a schoolmaster. Why? Because it’s run its course. See? ...all of this coming u.) (26) For you are the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus. (27) For as many of you as have been baptized into Christ have put on Christ. (28) (For) There is neither Jew nor Greek, ...neither bond nor free. It’s all over. A 144,000 are going to come into their election. There’s no more to go. You’re all one in Christ Jesus. And if you’re Christ, then, you’re Abraham’s Seed, and heirs according to the promise. 42. Now, Okay... so, now we’re back to Jn 1: 1-4. (1) In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, (3) And all things … made by him... (and so on.) (4) (And) In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And it says, “The life”... it says here then, that Word became flesh and dwelt among us. Then 1 Jn 1:1-4 tells us ...(and I’d better read that because that’s a fantastic portion of Scripture to give you exactly what I’m talking about.) 43. Okay, he says, (1) That which was from the beginning...(What was from the beginning? Okay, it tells you in Jn 1:1...”In the beginning was the Word... the Word was with God and the Word was God.” In other words, God, Holy Spirit, began expressing Himself.) which we have heard, which we have seen … , which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, of the Word of Life; (Now, that’s absolute physical. And he’s talking now about ‘Pneuma’, Himself, which is Life.) (2) (And) the life was manifested, (that means in Its absolute, true character. And we saw It in Its true character. We saw pneuma in its true character by means of zoe. We saw it; we handled it) ...and (we) bear witness, and shew unto you that eternal life, which was with the Father, (“In the beginning was the Word,... the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”... right down the line.) You are looking at the intrinsically and the ‘definity’... the definiteness (whatever you’re going to put it)... the definition of Almighty God. You’re looking at ‘intrinsic reality’ --what you’re looking at here. And unless it’s revealed to you, you cannot catch it. Now you see why Bro. Branham preached Bro. Branham and God eighty percent to ninety percent of his entire ministry? Can’t catch it. Average person cannot catch it; man cannot catch it. He can’t let go. The greatest gift in the world is to be able to let go. And people think, “Let go and let God. Oh, God will do this and...” No! You let go, and let God talk to you; get your head out of the way. This is the hour to repent. That’s where you want God to work, is in your mind. It’s a ‘mind’ age. You get your mind right, your body follows the mind. (You get an auton... what an automatic... see, what do they call it? ...Oh, that’s too many hard words ...[Doc Cass]?… can tell you ... ‘autonomic’ system. There’s also an ‘automatic’ part, I guess, too, like reflex and all.) 44. [1John 1:] (3) That which we have seen and heard declare we unto you (We make clear to you; we …[exegedisize]?… it.) that ye also may have fellowship with us: and truly our fellowship is with the Father, and with his Son Jesus Christ. And he says right here... Look-it, “I am aware of these things. And if you will become aware by believing me, you too will have what I’ve got.” You say then, “Can we have what the Prophet had?” You bet. Why, absolutely! You won’t be prophets for it... no, no, no, we’re not saying that. So, here we are today in Mt. 17:11, Elijah, before the literal Coming. (See?) Here we are Rev 10:1 and 7: the Mighty One Himself coming down with the Prophet. Here we are in Col 3:1-4: Christ who is our Life, appearing. He’s the One that guarantees, who is this ‘zoe’ that we are claiming to possess and looking forward in its absolute, which is a New Jerusalem. Yes sir! Because He’s the same Life. There He is. 45. Now, let’s go to 1 Corinthians, chapter 15, now, and let’s watch. Because I’ve told you, “Keep in mind this Seed.” Okay, now we’re dealing with resurrection. (35) But some man will say, How are the dead raised up? and with what body do they come? (36) ...fool, that which thou sowest is not quickened, except it die: (That’s why, brother/sister, you’ve got to die to yourself in your minds if you’re going to be in a resurrection at this hour. You’ve got to die.) (37) And that which thou sowest, thou sowest not that body that shall be, but (a) bare grain, Now, Christ, actually, was the literal spiritual Seed of God bringing forth a physical seed (which he was) and in him was that Life. He had power to lay it down and take it up again, which He did. And He had power to send forth that Life, the Holy Spirit, back upon the people. Now, what you’re looking at here -- what we’re talking about... ‘that very Life’-- is what was in that Life that had to come forth into manifestation. And the manifestation that it came forth into was a ‘God-Human Being’. And the manifestation we’re looking forward now is not that we sowed our body; that just died and made room for the life in us to come forth in a new body wherein that life would give the right body. (See?) Got the wrong body now. (See?) 46. Now, watch, (37) And that which thou sowest... (You don’t sow the body that’s going to be; you just sow little ol’ bare grain. Poppy seed looks more like a poppy than nothing. See?) it may chance... wheat, or some other grain. (38) But God giveth it a body as it hath pleased him, (that’s the blueprint), and to every seed his own body. Now, if you’re the seed of God -- which you believe you are-- you will have Christ’s body, in the resurrection. And if you are not His seed, you will come up in a resurrection body that is not like that body but it will endure suffering and depredation. (39) (Now) All flesh is not the same flesh...(Anybody knows there’s one) flesh of men, (there’s) another flesh of beasts. (there’s) another (flesh) of fish ...(there’s) another (flesh) of birds. And if you want to call ‘bugs’ got flesh, that’s another type. It’s all out there, different. Everything... Now, listen, (40) There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: (and) the glory of the celestial is one, and the glory of the terrestrial is another. (Now, he’s comparing what’s going to be by the physical that is now.) (41) There is one glory of the sun, and (one) ...of the moon, (one) ...of the stars; (even the stars differ in glory one from another .) (42) (A-hah!) So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption. How? Because the seed of that went down won’t ... now listen: The seed that went down --I’m talking now of the life that made you and me through the womb processes and all --that went down... it’s finished. That can’t do anything for you. But if you’ve got the other seed, you’ve got the real Seed of God in you, that’s going to form a body. Now, if all you’ve got is that old seed, it’ll form a body; won’t do you any good. It’s condemnation. You don’t want that, you see. 47. Now, [1 Corinthians 15:] (43) ...sown in dishonour; ...raised in glory: ...sown in weakness; ...raised in power: (44) ...sown a natural body; ...raised a spiritual body. There is a natural body, ...there is a spiritual body. (45) And so (it’s) written. The first man Adam was made a living soul; the last Adam... a quickening spirit. (That’s right. Adam’s life puts us all here and gets us in trouble. Christ’s spirit gets us out of here and puts us back here, in no trouble. See?) (46) Howbeit that was not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; ...afterward that which is spiritual. (See, you’re seed of God come right down into ‘human-ness’ mentality... fallen sons of God.) (47) The first man is of the earth, earthy … Now that’s of course, Adam in contradistinction to Christ, but it’s also you and me in our first sensate phase, which is zoe here, will be a different zoe there because you won’t be contending with the human-born body. Your glorified body you’ll have no trouble with. (See?) There’s nothing in there to bug you. (48) (And) as is the earthy, such are they... that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such(as) they... that are heavenly. (49) And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly. 48. Are you born today and then reborn? You got no choice in this; you are going to be glorified. You say, “Well, I’d like to sit around and kinda doubt it.” Don’t be a nut. Bro. Branham said, “You believe you’re one of them.” ... “And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.” (50) Now this I say, brethren, ...flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption. On what grounds? That you’ve got an incorruptible sperm! Because the Bible said, “Being born, not of corruptible seed ...you know, but of incorruptible.” Spora [4701 spor-ah(] -- incorruptible seed! ... being born-again. So you cannot possible come back in an old body. You will come back in a brand new body which God has recreated even from the gases because the Holy Ghost touched it. There’s where the Life is now. The same as life in human beings bring forth bodies, so it is that this is going to bring forth bodies. 49. [1 Corinthians 15:] (51) ...I shew you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, ...we shall all be changed, (52) In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump (That’s the last messenger -- William Branham) for the trumpet (will) sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. (Now, it’s not a trumpet that raises the dead out of the ground, it’s a voice. This is different.) (53) For (speaking of the living) this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal ...immortality. Now, we won’t be hearing the voice --as far as I know-- that calls the dead out of the ground, because they’re going to come up, we’re going to see them, then we’ll get a change. We might hear something, but I don’t know. (54) So when this (corruptibility) shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall be brought to pass the saying ...written, Death is swallowed up in (a) victory. (55) O death, where is thy sting? O (death) where is thy victory? (56) The sting of death is sin; and the strength of sin is the law. (57) But thanks be to God, which gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ. And it’s going to do the same thing right now because he tells you: This is not simply saying, “Hey! Jesus died and rose victorious and took them up with him.” He’s victorious here, to take us back with him. It’s another ‘Omega’ from an ‘Alpha’ process which took place 2000 ago. (I hope you’re seeing what I’m talking about.) 50. Okay... this is that which we were talking of in Gal 3:13. (13) Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us; for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: (14) That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. Why did Christ die? In order to make you and me available, or what you might call ‘fit’, to receive the Holy Ghost... washed our sins away. Now... and what’s going to happen? This is going to take us right into the resurrection. And I can’t read all the rest... but going on to the fourth chapter...(I read the third chapter.) 51. [Galatians 4:] (1) Now I say, that the heir, as long as he is a child, differeth nothing from a servant, though he be lord of all; You’re no different right now from anybody else, even though you’re going to rule with Christ a 1000 years and be in New Jerusalem.) (2) But is under tutors and governors until the time appointed of the (fathers)...(Fathers, what? The prophets. What the prophets said.) (3) Even so we, when we were children, were in bondage under the elements of the world: (4) But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, (See, he did that once.) (5) To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. (6) And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying Abba, Father. You don’t become sons; you are sons. You are seed; you don’t become seed. The toughest time I had was --even when Bro. Branham was alive and right afterward when he died -- (that was the killer right there) to try to get people to see they were seed. Soon as he taught me the baptism with the Holy Ghost as God has it in His Word and revealed through Bro. Branham, I knew instantaneously what this was all about. And I wrote it right down for him. And when I preached in Don ...[Ruthers]?... church, he hugged me the next day (he must have got the tape). He said, “Doc, you might have thought you preached some sermons in your life-time (he said) but that was your masterpiece.” I knew right away what he was talking about --caught the Sovereignty of God. You ‘were’; you’re not somebody ‘gonna be’. Your names aren’t being put on a book. My God! The names are all on books now, that are ever going to be on. And you better worry about getting it taken off. How crazy are people! They worry about getting the name on, when you should worry about it might be taken off. That’s people for you ... cart before the horse. Just like the old mule, just stubborn enough to ...you build a fire under a mule, he’s just stubborn enough to pull it far enough to burn your cart down. That’s a human being, buddy, every time. 52. Now, [Galatians 4:] (7) (You’re) no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ. (And Bro. Branham said, “At this time of the adoption, our names are on the checks.” See, see? There you are! Now, he said...) (8) Howbeit then, when ye knew not God ye did service unto them which by nature are no gods. (Trinitarians, everything else, see?) (9) But now, after that you have known God, or rather are known of God, how (will you turn again to the beggarly elements -- go back to organization, be a Seventh Day Adventist, worry about whatever Saturday is and everything else?) He said, “I’m afraid, you Galatians, I’ve laboured and put my labour upon you in vain.” The Blood was shed, the Word was shed --everything was shed all in vain. (See?) What a condition. Okay. Now, what does that take me to? [End of side 2, Tape 1] 53. Romans 8th chapter, then go all the way through, but I’m not going to. [Verse] 7. (7) Because the carnal mind is (the enemy of) God: for (it’s) not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be. (This is the age to repent --change your mind.) (8) So then they that are in the flesh (employing their own minds, instead of revelation) cannot please God. You say, “Why do you say that?” Because the Bible said, “Without faith it is impossible to please God.” I’m just quoting you ...[one more]?... Scripture. I’m quoting from Hebrews 11... I’m quoting ...[this]?... again. (9) But you are not in the flesh, but in the spirit, if …[so] be that the Spirit of God dwells in you. Now, how can you get there so you can be transfigured by the renewing of your mind which is in chapter twelve? If you’ve got the Holy Ghost, you’ll say ‘Yes’ to every Word the Prophet brings us. Now, you’re not in the flesh but in the Spirit.) (9) Now, if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his. (So forget it. You’re not part of the crew.) (10) And if Christ be in you, the body is dead because of sin; (You will die unless you are in the right hour to live. See?) ... the Spirit is life because of righteousness. Now, watch: the Spirit is Life because of righteousness. Therefore, until the Judge passes sentence: “Little Bride, you are the righteous, sinless, virtuous Bride of Christ. You didn’t do it at all.” Until that time, death reigns ! So, since that sentence has been passed, there’s somebody going to live, because it’s now in our hands to be quickened. 54. Now, [Romans 8:] (11) But if the Spirit of him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwell in you, he that raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by his Spirit that dwells in you. (Or because of the Spirit that dwells in you.) So, there’s your position right here, at the present hour. (See?) You’re looking at the manifestation of the seed. Now, we read this here ...and let’s go now to Ephesians which I could have read right after Galatians, because here is where we’re getting it. [Eph 1:] 17. (17) That the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give unto you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of him: (of Himself) (18) ( To the end…)The eyes of your (heart) being enlightened; … you may know (you can know) what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. In other words, you get an actual revelation of what was in the Mind of God. You get that which was not known ... it was not known; it was from before the foundation of the world. And this is the time the power of God will bring you forth in a resurrection. 55. All right... and here we are today in this particular position. And God is manifesting Himself in signs and wonders. And now the Spirit that has this Word --that brought this Word (See?) -- is bringing the Word into Life by manifestations. Now, that’s what Bro. Branham said, (See?). He said, “How does God interpret a Word? He manifests it.” What about every Age? Every Age has got a portion of that Word that God gives Life to. And that Life will come forth in that Word. So right today, God is manifesting Himself in signs and wonders. And now, the Spirit of God Himself is bringing Life --His Life; that Life-- into manifestation. And even God is seen visibly by the camera and appears in a ring of angels. In other words, here --just like Moses-- God is not only appearing in signs and wonders when Moses went down to Egypt to deliver Israel, but He’s appearing also visibly. And He’s done the same thing today by camera. 56. Now, this appearing of the Lord, according to 1 Th 4:16, is now on earth to bring pneuma-life of the departed into immortal zoe-life. And we, living, are already spiritually resurrected in our pneuma-life through the Pneuma-Life of the descended Lord, in a Pillar of Fire, and are waiting for immortal and uncorrupted zoe-life to put all of us in His image. Now, I’m going to go over that again, because you might not have got it. Everything I’ve said is absolutely accurate. Now, I want to explain again... Now, “The appearing of the Lord, according to 1 Th 4:16 …That’s the time when, “He who is our life shall appear”. And that’s the Appearing, “The Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout.”. That’s God Himself, Elohim, as He came down to Mary-- that Great One -- in order to bring forth a manifested physical seed of Himself, in His image. He came down. It was His Presence that did it. Because all things are possible in the Presence which could not be possible otherwise. Which it could not be possible for the dead to raise. It could not be possible for us to have immortal life. It couldn’t be done. 57. All right, So, here you see now, we’ve got God manifesting in order once more to bring forth the seed that the price was paid for. You’re not dealing with Jesus Christ, the Seed, now in a human form. We’re dealing with us --the purchased possession. All right... the Appearing of the Lord, according to 1 Th 4:16. He is now on earth to bring pneuma-life to the departed … bring them back here, ZOE, (See?) because they don’t have zoe there. They don’t have the fulness of zoe -- they can feel, they can touch, they can embrace, but they cannot eat, they cannot build -- they’ve just got a part. So, therefore, he’s got to be here to bring the zoe-life to its fulness. He’s got to bring that pneuma-life which is coming up into the zoe …into the immortal zoe-life, and we living are already spiritually resurrected in our pneuma-life. Bro. Branham said, “We’ve got a spiritual resurrection; not in our bodies ...inside, in the inner man.” How was it done? Through the Pneuma-Life of the descended Lord in a Pillar of Fire through the Shout. We are waiting for immortal and uncorrupted, incorruptible zoe-life which will put us all into His image and prove that we’re seed, that we’re sons. 58. Now, it is true that tonight we are seeing what God and all His Seven-Age Bride have looked for: the Eternal purpose of God coming into manifestation -- God’s zoe restored in restored men. Now, that’s what you’re looking for. Now, I know many people don’t believe this. “Oh, the resurrection’s passed. Oh, there is no resurrection. Oh,...” They want to mess up, hybridize the resurrection. They did it in Paul’s day; they’ve got to do it now! Bro. Branham was not off the scene (I don’t think his body was cold) before all this junk began to come out --taking from the Word, taking from the Word; adding to the Word, adding to the Word. (See?) You know, when you do that you annul the promise of God. I don’t care who you are. I’m pointing my fingers at myself. That’s exactly right. 59. What the world has looked for is a complete zoe on this earth. And we are going to have it in its next stage very quickly, because every Bride member plus the Elect Israelites -- a hundred 144,000 who are the servants to the Bride-- will all be in the Millennium. After the Millennium, the White Throne, the Second Resurrection (general resurrection) the others that are allowed to enter into Eternal Life, which they will (there’ll be millions, billions of them, no doubt). They’ll have their glory on the outside and they’ll be a type of zoe also. And you will see exactly what God had in His Mind for maybe trillions of years before He made one move... before He said, “Let there be light.” And you’re looking upon that which the people say, “The ends of the world have come upon us.” We’re looking [for] that which wise-men looked for, prophets probed and couldn’t even figure their own Word. And yet at the end-time we see the purpose very very clear, here. And, brother/sister, that’s why I believe Bro. Branham could say, “Take this Message for your healing.” 60. I believe every single thing lies in this Word tonight. That there’s nothing that lies apart, because everything is in Christ, and He is here in the form of the Pillar of Fire. There are people that don’t understand what we preach. And I’ll tell you why they don’t understand what we preach here. They don’t understand what we preach here because they will not give the pre-eminence as we do to this Word... as we do it. That’s where the whole trouble is. They’ll say, “He’s here. So what?” Or they’ll aggrandize something else. 61. My brother/my sister, let me tell you something: I know there’s such a thing as becoming weary of a mate when you get married. You know … Let’s say a young couple [have] fallen in love... really fallen in love. It’s not some kind of shot gun marriage or some kind of filthy thing that got pulled off in a bar (your dead drunk), but two young people really falling in love, and really loving each other. And let’s say that you’re back in the good ol’ days of Israel when you could have a honeymoon for one solid year. You know, the thing is this: How could you ...how could you be fed-up with each other when everything is there, propitious, and their tradition and the whole thing is to join in acts of love and understanding? That’s what it’s all about. Now, that’s what I’m trying to say tonight, here. If we are ‘in the marriage’ (as Bro. Branham said), how come they’re so tired of the Bridegroom? They are. How many are constantly talking, the way the Prophet constantly talked? But their criticism of us is, evidently, “ They can’t stand the Bridegroom.” The thing is, I am trying to get closer to the Bridegroom, and understand the Bridegroom, and be a part of the Bridegroom. And I’m going to keep talking until I talk my way into something... because, “By your words you’re justified, and by your words, condemned.” 62. And so we see, the whole picture of invisible Spirit-God desiring to come into manifestation in the realm of the sensate, in order that He, being what He was, could manifest to the utmost of the greatness and the love that lay within Him. I can’t understand those things, but I know they’re there. And I believe it, or I wouldn’t be talking ...[about it]?... And whatever He wants to quicken to me, He’ll quicken to me. But I’m going to tell you something: You have got to have conduits for either the water or the juice to flow through. And I’m looking at this as a conduit to a spiritual understanding that God can anoint and make live in us vessels. That’s what’s in this hour, brother/sister. Bro. Branham says, “Spoken Word is original seed.” And every seed has to manifest in its proper season. 63. What is the manifestation of that seed that was coming right up in the hour? Headship. Once to the eyes, no more moving parts. Nobody else will come on the scene; nobody else was needed on the scene. Nothing will be given to you --you had it. There’s only one thing that you can do, is sit down and ponder what you’ve been given. You’ll not be running out there trying to convert the world, because the world’s going to Hell. “Yet, the righteous scarcely be saved, where will the ungodly and sinner appear?” How are you going to convert a world that shows every sign of the last dregs and the filling of the cup of iniquity? Because, I believe, when you’ve seen AIDS, you’ve seen it all. There’s nobody optimistic except a prime fool. There’s nobody... no doctors are. Doctors are dying of AIDS. What about this man that... Mr. ...[Ganders]?... ? He’s dying of AIDS right now. He’s not bitter, but he said, “Anybody that gives blood knowingly having AIDS should be sentenced to death.” Physicians are turning him down to protect their own lives. And yet there’s this great clamor from the First Amendment guaranteeing you the freedom to destroy people. Well, I want my freedom so I’m not destroyed. The Constitution, the politicians, society is a farce. God has been honored at least by one man who said, “AIDS are of God.” He knew that much. And the judgments are of God, my Brother/my Sister... I don’t care what anybody says. And the judgments of God are in this earth. The cup of the Amorites... I think there’s not much delay left... not much delay. 64. I feel good. I can’t worry about the White Throne. It’s too late to worry anyway. Look-it, if you’re going to miss it, you won’t pass. In other words, you’re going to have to go up there and get condemned ...Might as well eat, drink and be merry for tomorrow you die. What do you do when the Titanic's struck [and] there’s no life boats? “Oh, this boat won’t go down, so you see, we don’t need life boats!” Where’s your ‘Hail Mary’ going to get you now?... or anything else going to get you? Not going to get you anywhere. Where’s your doctrine going to get you? How do you know? You know, we... we don’t have a flimsy hope; we’ve got a mighty big hope, in the Appearing of the Lord Jesus Christ and the prophet, brother/sister. And that’s the only hope we do have. It’s not character, it’s not fruit, it’s not power, it’s not obedience -- in the sense of a physical thing; there’s only one thing it can be and that’s God, by His Spirit of Wisdom and revelation making you to know whether you are or not. That’s it. I remember years ago a man said, “Well, Lee, how can I know if I’m elect?” I said, “Aren’t you listening? See, you would have walked off long ago.” Let’s rise and be dismissed. Heavenly Father, again we thank You for Your love and Your mercy, Your grace, Your compassion, O God, to let us be together, Lord, to bring out these things in Your Word which we believe, Lord, that if they’re not perfectly correct, they’re lining up with that Word. Because we know, Lord, that absolutely the great invisible God took upon Himself a human form... said, “This is My Beloved Son in whom I am pleased to dwell.” And that One said, “He that has seen me, hath seen the Father.” We know that, Lord, that these things are veiled in mystery, Father, but we’re not going to give up on the Truth as it lines in the Word. We just believe what the Prophet said. And somehow, if we don’t get it all lined up perfectly, we know we believe it. And we know, Father, that much of it has lined up to the extent that we’re absolutely confirmed in this understanding that we have, Lord, especially confirmed in the understanding of Your grace and mercy, that the Lord Himself did descend from Heaven with that Message. Waiting now for the Voice to raise the dead, to see the ones come forth in a spirit-body, to get that good ol’ physical body where they can eat and drink and be happy doing the things that You asked them to do, want them to do, Lord. What a great day that is, O God. To just think that we’re not going to be changed as far as human beings are concerned. We won’t be turned into some ant or some animal or something like the people try to make their understanding of theosophy and reincarnation and all those things, Lord. But we have You, the Living God, as proof that we are going to come forth into glorified bodies, truly the sons of God, joint heirs with Jesus Christ. And we thank You for it. Father, quicken it to us day by day. And, Lord, we know by that quickening, the assurance of faith lies there. Now, unto Thee Who art worthy, in the Name of Jesus Christ we give praise. Amen.
