	…standing there by a greater faith,  a control faith, Lord, one that
does not waver, but one that stands unerring revealing Word of Almighty
God, therefore growing more unto the perfect day. So Father, we commend
ourselves to You, asking Your help believing we're receiving it in
Jesus' Name. Amen. You may be seated.

1.	I'm going to go to 1 Corinthians 12: that's the thought…and It
says:

		(1) 	Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you 		
			ignorant.

		(2) 	(You) know that (you) were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb
					idols, even as (you) were led.

		(3) 	Wherefore I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the
Spirit 					of God (called) Jesus accursed: and no man can say that
Jesus is the 					Lord, but by the Holy Ghost.

		(4) 	Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit.

		(5) 	…differences of administrations, but the same Lord.

		(6) 	…diversities of operations, but it is the same God which
worketh 						all in all.

		(7) 	But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to
profit 						withal.

		(8) 	For to one is given by the Spirit the word of wisdom; to another
the 					word of knowledge by the same Spirit;

		(9) 	To another faith by the same Spirit; to another the gifts of
healing 						by the same Spirit;

		(10) 	To another the working of miracles; to another prophecy; to
another 					discerning of spirits; to another divers kinds of tongues;
another the 					interpretation of tongues:

		(11) 	But all these worketh that one and the selfsame Spirit, dividing
to 						every man severally as he will. (That's individual as he will.

		(12) 	For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the
members 					of that one body, being many, are one body: so also is
Christ.

		(13) 	For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we
be 						Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; …made to drink
into 					one Spirit.

		(14) 	For the body is not one member, but many.

		(15) 	If the foot shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not of
the 						body; therefore not of the body?

		(16) 	And if the ear shall say, Because I am not the eye, I am not of
the 						body; is it therefore not of the body?

		(17) 	If the whole body were an eye, where were the hearing? If the 		
			whole were hearing, where were the smelling?

		(18) 	But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, 
					as it hath pleased him.

		(19) 	And if they were all one member, where were the body?

		(20) 	But now are they many members, yet but one body.

		(21) 	And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of thee:
nor 						again the head to the feet, I have no need of you.

		(22) 	(No), much more those members of the body, which seem to be more
					feeble, are necessary:

		(23) 	And those members of the body, which we think to be less
honourable, 					upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our
uncomely parts 					have more abundant comeliness.

		(24) 	For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the
body 					together, having given more abundant honour to that part which
						lacked.

		(25) 	That there should be no schism in the body; that the members 			
		should have the same care one for another.

		(26) 	And whether one member suffer, all the members suffer with it;  
					one member be honoured, all the members rejoice with it.

		(27) 	Now (you) are the body of Christ, and members in particular.

		(28) 	And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily
						prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, gifts of
healings, 						helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

		(29) 	Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all
workers 						of miracles?

		(30) 	Have all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do all
						interpret?

		(31) 	But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a
more 						excellent way.

 	Now, to begin with we want to see why this chapter was actually
written. And It was written to correct abuses in the church. Now, it's
negative actually not positive, that is in here there isn't always the
telling of how to do things, but actually of how not to do things,
because It is corrective. 

2.	Now, back in 1 Corinthians 1:10, It says:

		(10) 	Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus
Christ, 					that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no
divisions among 					you; …

	And hold your finger there, and in 1 Corinthians 12:[25] "That there
should be no schism in the body; but that the members have care." So
therefore, this gift situation in the church is negative, because it's
schismatic, it's causing division. And he says, "that you be perfectly
joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment."  And you
will notice over here again in     1 Corinthians 14: It mentions the
gifts have to be judged, there had to be a proper judgment in the
church.

3.	Now, with that we go to 1 Corinthians 10:14-22, and you'll notice in
here:

		(14) 	Wherefore, my dearly beloved, flee from idolatry.

		(15) 	I speak as to wise men; judge (you) what I say.

		(16) 	The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of 	
				the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the 					
Communion of the body of Christ?

		(17)	 For we being many are one bread, and one body: for we are all 		
			partakers of that one bread.

	Now, you hold your finger there, and we get over here again to chapter
12: and It mentions:

		(13) 	For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, …bond or 
					free; …made to drink into one Spirit.

	And you'll see over here the same thing is said.

		(17)	 …one body: for we are all partakers of that one bread.

	In one place it is called drinking of the spiritual rock. In another
place it's…over there It's also mentioned being baptized in the clouds
and in the sea. And here It's being partakers of the manna, the bread.
Now notice:

		(18) 	Behold Israel after the flesh: (now, this is what we watch here)
are 						not they which eat of the sacrifices partakers of the altar?

		(19) 	What say I then? that the idol is any thing, or that which is
offered 						(to) sacrifice to idols is any thing?

		(20) 	But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they
sacrifice 					to devils, and not to God: and I would not that (you)
should have 						fellowship with devils.

		(21) 	(You) cannot drink the cup of the Lord, and the cup of devils:
(you) 					cannot be partakers of the Lord's table, and of the table of
(the) devils.

		(22) 	Do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? are we stronger than he?

4.	All right, now back to 1 Corinthians 12: 

		(1) 	Now concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not have you 		
			ignorant.

	I want to read to you, now It said:

		(2) 	(You) know that (you) were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb
					idols, even as (you) were led.

		(3) 	Wherefore (because you know that this doesn't have experiences,
I)        					I give you to understand, that no man speaking by the
Spirit of God 					(called) Jesus accursed:…(and so on.) 

	Now, Way(?)  translation is a liberal translation and it goes like this
from the rendering of the more what you'd call informal Greek that would
bring you to a kind of a better idea today concerning the
'Charismatic's', or the 'charimata' what it is. 

	"I want that you have clear conception, you know that when you were
heathen 			you used to be swept along by the impulses in beyond your
control in orgies of 			those dumb idols. But there is no parallel
between those frenzies and the breathing 			of the spirit. Therefore, I
must impress upon you that no one who speaks wrapped 			in the spirit of
God can cry accursed is Jesus."

	Now, as Bro. Branham said on Jubilee, that…"Anybody can say, Jesus is
the Lord." And the refraining him from saying this. But what it is he
said, there has to be the manifestation, or the evidence that follows
it, that Jesus is Lord, that what you're speaking is of the Holy Ghost.
And that's what Paul is speaking here. They are so confused from being
in what they were in, that they carried it over to what they understood
to be reality. And yet they were not in the sense in true reality, and
you've got the same thing right today. Now, on the other hand on one in
his rapture can cry, 'our Lord is Jesus is Lord', except by be possessed
of the Spirit.

5.	Now, in 1 Corinthians 14:32,

		(32) 	And the spirits of the prophets are subject to the prophets.

	You will notice in the first verse from the literal 'Way' translation
more liberal, the under- standing was, that they were swept along and
beyond control. And that is one thing of course that those spirits
speaks through the individual, there would hardly be the possibility of
anybody working himself up into something which would bring on a
manifestation. And that's what is censored here, the working up of the
individual into a place that would bring about a manifestation.

	Now, this is the story of Pentecost in many places. Like I never got
into it myself, but the idea was say Jesus, Jesus, Jesus faster, faster,
faster, faster, faster.  Now, Bro. Branham did come along and he did say
he goes to a place and raises his hands like, "two and two are four, two
and two are four, two and two are four."…fast, fast, fast, faster. But
I know what he's talking about. I had that happen in my life and it's
not what people think it is. It's the acceleration until the thought
blows in, is blown into the proper place of understanding where you're
in a place of revelation. 

6.	Now, he says here, "There is no parallel between devil worship,"
which is a spirit, or into the realm of spirits and what is the realm of
Almighty God. There is none whatsoever. In the first place revelation is
got to come from a prophet. It's got to be delivered by a prophet. It's
got to be given to an individual. "He that has an ear, let him hear what
the Spirit is saying." [Rev 3:22] But these people here were going back
to their old experience and they were literally attempting to work
themselves up into manifestation. And I'm not going to say categorically
that I'm afraid there's just too much going on amongst us, that's why I
keep harping and condemning what goes on in Pentecost, that you can't
bring that into these meetings. Now, I've got a good idea that there's
some have come here with the idea of wanting more of a clout in the
shout. And if we could just flounce around and show ourselves, well,
"glory to God." Well, glory to God, "Shut up!"  

	Now, I'm lowering the boom, maybe the right people aren't even here,
bring them in. But you better get your minds set straight, there is no
comparison.   Now, he's actually bring out here, and I'm going to read
in Bro. Branham to show you devils can get in here. Right in this spot,
there can be actually devils working. Now, I've read you the verses and
showed you what these people were devil worshipers, they were idolaters.
(See?) And it's simple for anybody with a back-ground to bring into this
Message  what doesn't belong to there. And Pentecost is the worse of the
works. Now, we just got to understand these things from Scripture. Then
if we can get a little place where we can apply to ourselves, fine.   

7.	Now, I'm going to start reading, because I've got a lot of reading to
do from 'Questions and Answers' [64-08-23] which bring out a lot of
this, beginning on page 104, I'll just read it for you. [Taken from
'Word of the Hour.com']

[60[ 	Brother Branham, can Satan use a gift of tongues or prophecy in a
person 					who has the Holy Ghost? (Well, that person was thinking)
That's a good one 				isn't it? Yes, sir. If... It must be watched very,
very close. If you'll notice in 					1 Corinthians 14:29, who wants to
put it down... See? The person who 					wrote this never signed his
name; they just said, "God bless you." See? In 					1 Corinthians 14:29
we find out that any gift in the church has got to be judged 				first. 

	Now, there's got to be a danger if it's got to be judged. There's got
to be a place…and Bro. Branham said, "This is the most deceiving Age
of all, the deceiving Age of all time." There's nothing like it, because
the Scripture says, "God Himself will bring the strong delusion."       
             [2 Th 2:11] And remember when God wanted Abab, He said,
"Who is going to bring the man to the place of defeat?" And a lying
spirit said, "I will get in the mouth of the prophet and bring him to
deceit." [1 Kg 22:22] And the lying spirit went right to the Word of God
and twisted It, and said, "Hey, God gave you that land."  God gave that
land on condition, and the first condition was: "Exterminate what's in
the land and they didn't do it, and don't you men dare to marry a women
that's outside the tribe," and they did it. (See?)

8.	That's why Bro. Branham said, "There ain't no such thing as a
marriage, unless you absolutely know that's the one for you, from God."
It was okay in the flesh years ago. A man could have a woman betrothed
to him by the parents, and get her out of a certain tribe she was bound
to be okay. But he went snooping on his own for a flesh pot, for his
sexual gratification and he got it alright. And you wonder why it wasn't
God Almighty was pleased, and Phinehas got a spirit went into a tent,
and two people were copulating, an Israelite man, and a Midianite  woman
and he plunged them through with a spear and said, "Die, for what you've
done." [Num 28:8] And God said, "Hallelujah, that's my kind of a man." 
Whew,  listen that's pretty rough. Think you can bring adulteries from
other churches and ideas into this Message? That's a bunch of nonsense. 


	Now, it says right here, now, they said,  "We're going to find out.
It's got to be judged, for you see, you have to watch, because evil
spirits slip in."   

 	I keep telling you about Dr. Cliff went up to Montreal, Bro. Smith I
believe was the pastor up there in a great Pentecostal church, and Cliff
was an outstanding bright individual. You'll understand how smart he
was, he's a man that made 'chiffon' pie. He worked for General Foods,
…?... company down here, and a very smart man, a chemist, what have
you. Very fine Christian man. And he went up there and he heard several
languages spoken, because he knew seven himself. He's fluent in seven
languages. Five languages speaking in tongues in Pentecostal church,
three were praising God and two were cursing God. Now, where's
discernment?  First thing necessary to have anything set up in a church
is discernment. 

9.	Now, 

		…spirits slipped in. Because remember, the rain falls on the just
and the unjust. 				The same rain that was sent to ripen the wheat
ripens the weed: the same water. 				How many knows that? Now, that
ought to clear the serpent's seed to you then, 				how this son come.
I'm trying to pick it out here to get it before my time runs 				out,
but I can't find it: so, how that son was about the serpent's seed. See?

		God has a law. Now, on this, in this law of the spirit of Life you
have to watch, 				because Satan slips in. Sure.

		Now Paul, when something was revealed to somebody, it had to have at
least 				two or three judges before it could be told before the church.

[61] 	Now, also here I might bring this out. I see my... I don't think
my Brother's 				here tonight, but somebody made fun of somebody leaving
the Tabernacle 					and went down to Brother Junior Jackson's for a
church. And said, "They 					went down amongst the 'dead birds.'" Aren't
you ashamed to make a remark 				like that? Ever who you are, if you're
my kid here in Christ, I'm ashamed of 				you. Don't do a thing like
that. Junior Jackson is my brother. Don Ruddell is 				my brother. Well,
the reason of it, because when I set the church here in a 					certain
order, when I come back, to see if I could get the manifestation of the 
			gifts, half of them pulled away from it. Because when you would start
to speak, 				or preach, or something, it got... It was getting in such
a place you could 					hardly preach 'less there was somebody spoke in
tongues, somebody interpreting, 				somebody give the interpretation;
half of it never even come to pass.

[62] 	Now, I believe in speaking in tongues. I believe in
interpretation, but it must be 				something directly to the church, …

10.	 Now, he's got that backed up here where It says in chapter 12, but
the manifestation is given to every man to profit with all. It's a
complete profiting throughout the whole church, or forget it. 

		Now, I believe in speaking in tongues. I believe in interpretation,
but it must be 				something directly to the church, not, "The Lord is
coming soon," or something--				which is all right. But, "Don't use vain
repetitions," Jesus said, "as heathens do.				"It must be something.
"Go, tell Brother So-and-so a certain thing he done and--				to get..."
"Why, go tell…Sister So-and-so, when she did a certain thing down 			
there the other day, she transgressed the laws of her husband's--the vow
to her 				husband. Unless she makes this right the Holy Spirit will cut
her off." There 				you've got THUS SAITH THE LORD. 

	It didn't say you say, "Thus saith the Lord," it said, "You've got,
Thus saith the Lord." There's a big difference right there. Anything
that comes to pass in the Spirit of God is 'Thus saith the Lord', but
only the prophet, because they [say] 'Thus saith the Lord', something
will occur. Because to Deuteronomy 18, you have to listen to Him.
[correction made] 

	So therefore, you've got a lot of guys say they've got 'Thus saith the
Lord', they don't know anything about 'Thus saith the Lord' at all. 

	Why, man I'd have to hear a Trinitarian one time and say, "Well, God's
mixed up worse than I am, because He's God and He's supposed to be
smart." You got a Trinitarian with 'Thus saith the Lord, you've got a
Oneness with 'Thus saith the Lord', you got this one with 'Thus saith
the Lord', that one with 'Thus saith the Lord' it won't work. Any man
that's got 'Thus saith the Lord', you got to listen to him. So, you've
only got one 'Thus saith the Lord'. Now, we've had it.

11.	 [Now:]

		Then bring that sin in. That's when we got a church like it was when
Ananias				 and Sapphira come in. Then we got a church that stands
solid. (That's when 				the gifts are operating right.)

		"Oh," you say, "Brother Branham..." One guy, I told him that; he said,
"Well, 				you put us too much on the spot."

		I said, "Ain't I on the spot up there to strangers I never seen in my
life? But 				I got faith and confidence in my God Who sent me to do
this, and never one 				time has it been wrong or it never will be as
long as it's God." That's right.

	Now, you see, it's instilling confidence in the people in the reality
in what is real, and the continuity in what is real. (See?)

[63] 	Not speaking in tongues and things like that... I believe that
those tongues 					and people that got them gifts, if they're real
genuine Christians and interested 				in it, they'll meet themselves
together, because--and give the tongues and 					interpretations and see
what they can do to further the Kingdom of God. 					They got a ministry
of their own, but it don't belong here in the middle of 					the
audience where the sinners are being dealt with and so forth. The Bible 
			said, "They'll say you're unlearned.

	Now, you see, there again it was not a matter of telling them what to
do, they were doing, they were wrong, and the approach was corrective
and in the negative.

		Oh, "Sometimes they get so irreverent with it and--and so forth... Not
our 					gang hadn't, but I let them go ahead awhile. And I said, "Watch
it."

[64] 	Now, I told the brethren (There's witnesses here know this), I
said, "Let it 					alone. After while I'll--we'll find out whether it's
of God or not. If it cannot 				stand chastisement, it's a bastard
child." That's exactly what the Bible said. 				And when the
chastisement come, what happened? Did I tell you that long 					ago?
See? Ask the pastor here. He said, "What about this and what about 				
that?"

		And I said, "Just let it alone. They're babies. We can't judge it, but
watch 					when it really comes to pin down to the Word."

12.	Now, you're going to find on an old tape Bro. Branham said that you
practice, as it were gifts. Now, here's the practice thing he's telling
you about: How can you practice a gift, to see if the gifts is going to
improve you're going to get somewhere with it? How can you practice gift
of Almighty God? How can you practice just a dollar bill?  A dollar bill
is a dollar bill. A gifts a gift. It's how you use it.

	Now, if they were using it wrong, then they got to bring it under
control. And if it was a genuine gift used wrong, then bring it under
control will do something for the whole church. We'll watch when it
comes to pinning it down to the Word. There's your…bring it up to the
Word, to your practice. 

		Now, Brother Junior Jackson had a right to disagree with that. He
wants 					his church... (Now notice the disagreement, he doesn't want
it, we're going 				to be judged just throw it on the floor and
everything goes.) The people all 				want to speak with tongues and
things in the audience. That's Brother 					Junior's troubles;
that's--that's up to him. But Junior Jackson believes this 					Message
the same as the--any of the rest of us do. He's one of us. And it's 				
not a "dead bird" to go there. Junior Jackson is a man of God that I
love 					with all my heart. And is not here tonight, so I can really
pour it on the way 				I want to.

[65]	 And Don Ruddell... I don't think Don's here he's  got a church of 
his own. 					But if I seen every person come to this tabernacle, walk
out and go to Don 					Ruddell, or Brother  Parnell's, or any brother...
they're our brothers here 					and fellow citizens of the Kingdom, I'd
be so happy I wouldn't know what 					to do. I'd say, "Lord, fill this
one back up again. Let's pour it out and fill up 				another one." I'd
love it. I'd love to see those boys... They're my children. Now, 				J.
T. or any of the rest of them don't have to believe just like I do; they
don't 				have to do that. As I told you this morning, I don't even
agree with my wife, 				or she don't agree with me. What if I went to
table and Junior got apple pie 				and I got cherry pie. Brother, we're
both eating pie; we can agree there, but... 				And we both preach the
same Gospel. His church discipline...

[66] 	You know, Peter and Paul had differences, not in their doctrine,
but the way 				Peter was behaving himself. They had a little difference
here, but it never 					separated them. They were brothers. Why, sure
we're going to have differences, 				not differences... I disagree with
the Assemblies of God. I disagree with their 				systems, but there's a
many Assembly of God man that's a precious brother. 				I disagree with
the oneness doctrine, but there's a many of those men are 					precious
men. I agree-- or disagree with the Baptists, with the Presbyterians 			
and their systems, but in there, there's genuine Christians.

[67]	Somehow or another this afternoon I picked up a telegram. I missed
it. A 					brother, a Baptist preacher, said he would--had been seeking
for a long 					time to come to a place--or get to a place where men
respected God instead 				of respecting one another. (Now he had respect
to each other of course, but 				you don't put...respect means you can't
put people in the place of God here,) 				A precious brother comes to
this church said, "I'll take you to such a place." 				He was longing to
get here: a Baptist… see, they're scattered everywhere. 					I
wouldn't agree with their system, but I certainly love the party. So
don't 					say that about the brethren.

		Now in here, these gifts are--got to be watched. No gift... Have to
watch 					it. Satan can impersonate any gift. Look at these Beatles now
going to 					impersonate  Divine healing: filthy, dirty, rotten, borned
out of hell. See? 

13.	 Now, right here Bro. Branham is saying that there's things that are
going to come absolutely in the realm of the gift area that God has
allowed. Because you see the tares can be anointed, God will allow it
and the person as filthy an individual as possible, and there's only one
way that it's doing its work, is the same as the evil spirit came upon a
prophet and did the work that must be done.  God Himself bringing
deception allowing the gifts to manifest to absolutely take people away.
And they'll say, "Look it here, look what's being done over here. Look
at this great thing here, look at that great thing there." And they'll
say, "Well, it's got to be God." And so therefore, what it does is split
the people. There is nothing definitive and unify in the gift ministry.
It is the Word and the Word alone that is going to do it. 

	Now you say, "Well the Word scatters people." Well…that's in the
sense that when the line in drawn by the Word, which was are you going
to go? But then you see, they used gifts to pull away from the Word.
That's what I'm saying here.  

14.	 Now, we're going to go to page 122.

[107]  	What is the evidence that a person is really filled with the
Holy Ghost? John 				14:26: "When the Holy Spirit is come He will show
you things to come." See? 				He'll be a... He'll perfect it; manmades
won't do it; and He is the Word. When 				He the Holy Ghost is come, He
will identify Himself in you with the Scripture. 				And that is the
true sign the Holy Spirit is in you, because It is the Word. (Like 			
we preached this morning.)

		Now, look. What if you spoke with tongues? I just want to ask you
that. Jesus 				said when the Holy Ghost come what He would do. And what
if you spoke 					with tongues, jumped up-and-down, shouted, and
everything else, then come 				to the Word; and I'd tell you baptism
of--prove to you by the Scripture as I					have, that the baptism using
the title of Father, Son, and Holy Ghost is absolutely 			
misunderstanding the Scripture; nobody was ever baptized that way, and
you 				go ahead and hang with it anyhow? Could you tell me the Holy
Spirit's in you 				would do a thing like that? How can It deny It's own
Word? (Now, that's what 				we're talking about, evidence.)

[108] 	When I show you what's supposed to take place in this day, how
that the Son 				of man is to reveal Himself, and what He's to do, and
all these Scriptures 					that's been now, and then see Him come right
down and identify, and you 					hang right on to a denomination and say
that you're borned again? Could 					you make sense out of that? 

15.	How could anybody joined to Almighty God ever go against that? A man
that is truly joined to God absolutely has got to see the Word. Because
It is the Word. (See?)  Now:

		Could I tell my wife I love her, and have a date with another woman,
and 					run around, and then tell her from my heart I love her? Do you
think that'd be 				true love? Could she tell me she loves me, and while
I'm gone away, her 					run around with some other man?

		That's exactly what Israel done to... You know the Bible there, how He
said, 				"You have set your limbs apart and taken in every man that
come by, 					and played the part of whoredom with Me; and I'll put you
away in 					divorce." Exactly. What was it? You're committing adultery
against 					your own body. And when a woman goes out and lives with
another man, 					or a man with another woman, when they're married to
them, they are 					defiling their own flesh. When a person says that he
is a Christian and					will absolutely deny the Scripture being right,
he's committing adultery 					against the Body that he claims to be in.

	And that's what they were doing here. Because the dumb idols and orgies
leads you to the sexual intercourse. Because an orgy usually is that.
(See?) How can anybody full of the Holy Ghost believe in soul-mating? We
had that in Canada, the west coast, they're right into it. Here this guy
has all this soul-mating doctrine, he had the people living in abject
sin.

16.	 Now:

 		See, it's a mark of antichrist, so much that would deceive the
elected if 					possible. 

	See, getting people off the Word. And right today, the gifts are
getting people right off the Word, because the Charismatic Movement is
everywhere. Now, when the Roman Catholic church decides to promulgate
it, you can see it's a pretty good bet for them. In fact the Roman
Catholic pope, the last one said, (the one before this one, said two
before this one) said, "Either the Roman Catholic is doomed if it
doesn't take the Charismatic Moment, and all the priest should speak in
tongues and receive the Holy Ghost thusly."

	Now, this one here is the guy that's getting the money in. So, now
we've got first of all the deceit, now we've got to where the gold is.
So, we're coming right along beautifully. I'm going to write a letter
pretty soon to Rome to get the pope out of America, I can hardly wait.
[laughter] I told you if they wouldn't do something, I'd lobby for it,
because I just can't buy this 'slovingly' way to doing things, it's too
slow. [laughter] To slow for me. [Bro. Vayle chuckles] No, I won't try
to hustle up the prophecy, it's just that I really believe what the
prophet said. I'm looking for it. (See?) This business they got a pope
who says when you can go over and fish to Polish sausage on Friday, you
ought to be able and get down to hamburgers which is American national
dish in short order. All the way from pasta to Polish sausage.  

17.	 [Now], 152, this is a long one: [omit comment] 

[24]  	Brother Branham, is it possible for one to have the baptism of
the Holy 					Ghost and not to have the signs following, at least not
until the--some 					future time and conditions appointed by the Spirit?
Now, that might 					sound like a mixed-up question, but that's a good
one, very good. See? 					Now, here gives me a little chance, that I
find that's working with my--					my family here now (See?), I mean you,
my family, and the family out 					in the world where we--where our
tapes go.

[25] 	Now, a great part of my congregation is made up of Pentecostal
people, 					and because Pentecost is the latest message that we have in
the 						denominational ranks. And to me, I certainly agree with them
more 					than any other denominational church. I hang towards the
Pentecostal, 					because it's the later message. And all my converts
that I bring to 						Christ, I try to direct them to some Pentecostal
church. But I have 						condemned them in every way that I knowed how,
that they were wrong 					in the Scripture by being a denomination and
not willing to walk in Light 					when Light's presented to them. 

	Now, of course Pentecost said they would always keep their eyes opened
for Light, they just closed it, I got the proof, because I know the
big-shot in Canada.  See, I was right there when he said it.

		But yet, if I had to take my chance today to take any church in the
world, 					I'd take Pentecostal when it come to denomination-ism . When
it comes 					to individuals, as men and women, there's genuine
Christians in all  					denominations: Methodist, Baptist, Presbyterian,
Lutherans, and so on. But 				I'm talking about the systems that these
people are in, never the individual, 				but the system that these
people has been caught in by their denominations. 				Clearly understand
that now (See?), that I think the people... If they're 					Roman
Catholic, Jehovah Witness, Orthodox Jew, whatever they are, that 				
doesn't matter to me; but they are individuals to which Christ died to
save.

18.  Now, that's...he's getting rid of the system and getting to
individuals now. So, his Message is not to any denomination,  his
Message is to individuals in the denomination if they want to listen. 
(See?)  Now, he said, "When the denomination pick it up, that's the time
it's all over." Denomination always pick things up, see? Like
Pentecostal, is all over...when other people           start taking it.
There was a time years ago when God bypassed some of their authoritarian
doctrine, which was speaking in tongues. And many a saint was truly
baptized with the Holy Ghost and spoke in tongues, because he believed
it would happened. And they were taught that, and they got by with it.
But just as soon as Light strikes, ignorance is finished.

	So, he said, "Pentecost is the latest, so if I had to make a choice I'd
hang toward them." Well, I'll be frank with you, (we'll I don't know if
I would or not,) I'm not exactly sure I'd go back, go to Pentecostal
church. I simply can't stand their doctrine of falling away, I'd sooner
go one of those better Baptist churches myself, at least understand the
security doctrine, election. And some of those ones at least take you
back (you know) to begin to see some of the things that are deep in the
Spirit of God. Because after all, what people think are deep in the
Spirit of God are not manifestations. Really. Because there's
manifestation all over here, but get behind the manifestation, what's
really there. That's what really counts. And we're getting behind what's
really there when we talk about false anointed at the end time and watch
for gifts where the devil can enter right in. 

	I'm not trying to scare anybody here. What I’m trying to do is to
show you what 1 Corinthians 12 was written. (I won't even get to what
really I had in the back of my mind, again as to the danger of schisms
and all.) 

19.	Now:

[26]	And agreeing with their systems that they're in... I believe
there's just as					many Christians out there in the Baptist, as there
is in the Methodists, or 					the Presbyterians, or whatevermore. 

	Now, that is what you call a Philadelphia lawyer statement right there.
If there's one Christian in the Baptist, it might won the Presbyterian
to that. But it sure sounds good when he says it, until you get right
down, he says: 

		They're Christians, real believers. And right out in the Roman
Catholic 					church there's genuine people in there that's real men and
women that 					love the Lord. (Didn't say, genuine Christians) And they
don't join that 					church to be wrong; they join that to be right. But
it's a system in there 					that directs their mind the wrong way. (Oh,
that's their creeds and dogmas) 				And if ever comes to a time that I'd
make a denomination, I have deceived 					you and have brought you into
a system; far be it from me. And may God 					keep me in my right mind
to direct you to Jesus Christ, the Word. Stay with 				That. See?

[27]	But now, this person here is asking the question about the
possibility of 					having the baptism of the Holy Ghost without signs
following them. Now, 					it would... If you are born again you are--if
you are born first as a human 					being and a normal human being...
Now, I'm answering this in a--a real 					juvenile way of doing it. But
if you're born a normal human being, you will 				actually do the things
that a normal human being would do. (Now, that's 					right, is exactly
right,) When you're born as a human, the natural traits of 					a human
being will follow you. (You act like something else, something's 				
got a hold of you. See?) You won't live in a tree, and try to fly with
your wings 				like a bird, or something like that. That isn't--that
wouldn't be a normal human 				being, the normal actions of a human
being. The normal action of a human 				being would be to work, marry,
have family, and do these things. That's natural, 				normal human
beings, because you're born that. Then when you're borned a 			
Christian, borned of the Spirit of God, you naturally take up the
attributes of 				Christ. You see?

20.	In other words, there's that...Bro. Branham mentioned it's down in
the soul, and it gives a nature to your spirit in life. 

[28]	Now, if we took here this morning in this congregation where you
people set 				here and listen day after day and so forth to the
teaching, you'll find out 					you'd be different one from another,
because you're different. 

	Now, that's what it says over here. Everybody is different from each
other in the body, and there's different things going on, but it's the
same spirit. We're all human beings, all act different.

		You're made up different; appetites are different; you eat different;
you all 				eat, but you all eat food….now... With one individual
being just like the other				one, you're different one from another. (In
other words, you're all human 					beings, no difference there, but
there's manifestation.) Christians do the same 				thing. You can't say,
"Now, all..." Do all speak with tongues, do all prophesy, 				do all...
See? 

	It's right off the bat. If you're talking about the body, and you're
talking about gifts and every- body couldn't speak in tongues as a
ministry. Now anybody could as Bro. Branham said, "If you're truly
filled with the Holy Ghost, there will come a time when you will speak
with tongues."  Because you want to praise the Lord and there's no way
to do it, so, out of the inner most being like tongues, bellows, and
gushing, like Finney had, you could speak in tongues. And he said,    "I
believe anybody who's really baptized will."  But he explained how,
that's got nothing to do with chapter 12 there. Because that's where
they were into a service. Now see, you could not want ...?... to speak
with tongues.  

		You have to watch these things, because a Christian takes up the
habits of 					a Christian; (see, and it takes up habits, what? of other
Christians) and they 				live like a Christian. Jesus said, "These signs
shall follow them that believe." 

	Now, that's good on both sides, it's good on the bad side too. I mean,
it'll come on the bad side, not it's good on the good side.

		Notice: "In My Name they shall cast out devils; take up
serpents...drink					 deadly things; speak with new tongues." And them
things just actually follow 				Christians.

[29]	Now, the person has a very good thing here: "... or do we wait
until the future 				time or the conditions appointed by the Holy
Spirit?" I like that. See? Now, 				you get the idea? When it's
appointed by the Holy Spirit... God appoints things. 

21.  Now look, if God appoints every individual and every single
ministry, and there's going to be a cohesive working of the Holy Spirit,
He would have to appoint the time slot for the energy. Then how come
they're all together, yapping and tongues everything else.

	Now, we got more people that go latter rain in this Message than you'll
believe possible. Then you wonder why I hit so many times in this church
here, because I've got two very big ears and I'm on the road and I know
what's going on. And believe me there is more Latter-rain going on than
you can believe. They still haven't come out of Pentecost, or they're
trying to bring Pentecost into this,  you can't do it. You can't put a
new patch on an old garment, it's got to be a brand new garment, and
leave it that way. You can't put new wine in old bottles, it just won't
work. And neither can you put an old patch on an old garment. (See?)
Now, we don't want anything to mix-up in here. 

22.	Now:

		I think if the Pentecostal people would try (that listens to this
tape), you'll 					understand me if you will get here why I differ with
you pressing that idea 					that they must all speak with tongues. I
cannot see that right, because it'd be... 				I like cherry pie, but
there's no need... If I'm a human being...there's no need 				of me
trying to tell you, "If you don't eat cherry pie, you're not a human
being." 				See? But eating cherry pie is just one of the habits of a
human being. See? 					You might disagree with me upon that, but--but
it's true. Now, one will eat 					this, and one will do something else.

[30] 	Now, the Holy Spirit appoints these offices, (it's exactly right)
but when you 				try to force yourself into it... (What if you tried to
speak in tongues on your 				own and wasn't for you? What if you tried
to prophesied and it wasn't for 					you? What if you tried anything and
it wasn't for you?) If I said you had to 				eat cherry pie, what if a
cherry pie made you vomit? And yet, you'd vomit and 				try to eat
cherry pie and vomit, and...?... See? You're---you're hurting yourself, 
			and that's the way you try to do when you try to force yourself to do
something 				that's contrary to the Spirit. 

	That carried away in these dumb idols, you got to work it up. See?
Let's have a real shout and praising meeting. I'm all for good shouting
and praise meetings. 

23.	But, you know what, our son Don used to go to Pentecostal meetings
in Spencerville the odd time, and we'd rebuke him for doing it. But he
enjoyed it, he'd get up there and shout and dance with the rest of them.
He said, "Boy, (he said) that's great therapy." Now look you can let the
steam off by shouting and it's great. There is a place where you
genuinely worship God and the wheels begin to turn and you definitely
will come away with new attitudes and strength, because you deliberately
let you hearts to praise the Lord. There is nothing wrong with that. But
this here, they're trying to work something up and bring into
manifestation something. Sweeping along, see? Trying to get somewhere.
You're trying to force yourself to something that's contrary to the
Spirit. 

		He's got your life 'lotted for a certain thing. Do you understand...?
See? And 				you, when you're filled with the Spirit, here's one of the
best signs I know: 					you're so in love with Christ and believe every
Word that He says to be the truth. 				See?

	Now, I tell you, anybody that begins to force themselves when it comes
to gifts, always leaves the Word. Their way of on the Word. See, now
we've got something greater than the Word.  

		That's the evidence that you have the Holy Spirit....your life's full
of joy, 					and oh, my, everything's different (See?) than what it used
to be. That's the 				Holy Spirit.

[31] 	Now, these gifts are in the Holy Spirit. (Now notice where he said
they are, 				in the Holy Spirit) Now, if this congregation this
morning, this--just a nice 				snug church full with... (The overflow
rooms, filled up.) Just a... (Not 					announcing we was going to answer
these questions, but these people have 				just come in.) Notice, if
every person in here was in perfectly harmony with 				the Holy Spirit,
every one of you was filled with the Holy Ghost and in harmony 				with
the Holy Ghost, these signs would be just a--multiplying among you all 	
		the time (See?); it'd just be constantly going on. (Why? Because
there's a 					naturalness, see, to it.) But where there's confusion,
where there's difference, 				where we set up, the Holy Spirit can't
move itself. You see? It can't operate 				through the people. See?

[32]  	And there, if I said, "Now you, each one of you, did you speak in
tongues?"				"Yeah."

		"Well, you got It. "Did you speak in tongues?"

		"No."

		"You haven't got It." Now, I'm making myself a judge. God is the Judge
of these 				things.

24.	 Now, let's go back again. "But he that is spiritual judges all
things, but he himself if judged of no man." [1 Cor 2:15] Now, I told
you Bro. Branham was preaching the King James version in Twentieth
Century vernacular. What I'm repeating here is nothing by the Word of
God in Twentieth Century American-ise. And you can find It all in here.
I've taken point after point, and I'm not too sharp at this, because I
didn't really try to study It through either. But you can see the point
I bring out, the coincide right with the Word. He doing nothing but
giving you the King James version back and forth here.   

		But watch, Jesus said, "These signs shall follow them." See? The
groups that 				believe,...

	And I said once today I already tried to be a whirling dervish.
Pentecostal wants everybody to be whirling dervish. You got it all. One
person go it all. (I think you know about it Don, in Way bunch, it's the
same way. Everybody speaking in tongues, everybody prophesying,
everybody ...?..., everybody does it all wrong. Ninety-nine percent is
simply goo-off of man, bunch of hogwash of man. And the other, (what?)
seven percent. I'm not going to categorize it. I've been all through
son, don't worry. I've warned him, and I've warned him day and night.
And I said, "Get away from that stuff, it'll destroy you." And he went
right to the wrong man out of America to get this stuff. He came way.  I
knew exactly where he would go. Now, lots of money, so he's right.  Is
it? (phfft!) [someone says Amen] Thank you, I wanted an Amen on that
one. 

25.	 I can tell you flat, your money will destroy you. Money will send
more people to hell quicker than anything else. And that's exactly...and
I've already preached this sermon and showed you money on 'Priorities'.
[Four sermons in July 1978] How when Jesus Christ turned down the money,
the Roman Catholic church took it up from the devil. And today the
wealthy church will run it all with money. 

	So, a guy says, "I'm a millionaire. I'm a great servant of God."  Aw
yes, the greatest servant of God was William Branham, just like John
Baptist and didn't have a radio broadcast , or nothing. They say, "Well,
I'm going tell you, if he'd have had it, he'd have done more."

	Then why didn't Jesus Who was God do more?  Haw, they could never
answer that one. [laughter] Tells you right here, the prophet saying the
same thing. Says right here, he's just telling you. Signs follow them.
(See?) The groups that believe. 

		...the whole nature of the Holy Spirit flows through them, and they
are all full 				of love and joy, and just a great bundle of real godly
filled people.

26.	Now, let's just see this thing here: Diverse gifts, same spirit,
different ministration ministries, different operations, the
manifestation is for everybody. Then It tells you all the various...the
nine manifestations, that's just some of them. "For as the body is one,
and many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, so
also is Christ. [1 Cor12:12] That's what he said. Twentieth Century
American-ise. Right? Sure it's right. (Well, you don't have your books,
page 155 I'm on now, you remember that. All right, when you get home you
read it. Now:

		 And in there, they speak with tongues on the occasion that tongues
arise (why),				 or necessary for that, they speak with tongues. And if
there's a prophecy, it 				speaks. And oh, it's just exactly perfect
every time.

[33[ 	Ask those fifteen or twenty people that went in there on interview
this morning 				if there was one word in any way, missed in any one
way, and perfect strangers... 				What--the Holy Spirit dig right down
in there, and give them things, and bring 				them right out, and tell
it to them. See, see? There's not no mistakes in it. It tells 				them
just exactly what this, and what this was, and what that was, and what
this 				is to be done, and things like that, and...what they should do.
See? That's just... 				Set it right in order. Now, we've got to act on
that.

[34]	The other night I was talking to a couple, and I was at a home
where we was 				having a meeting, or just--was just setting around a
table talking. And all at 				once, the Holy Spirit dropped among us,
and I said to someone there, "I seen 				a certain man, and they said he
was confused in his mind about some things," 				and I said, "like in
the confusion in the discernment." I said, "Now, it's 					right here
now." (Now, in other words, he didn't understand discernment.) 					"I
know what you're thinking." And I went right back and just took a round 
			about way and answered every question that man had in his mind to
him, 					that he... Nobody knowed even what I was talking about but
him. See? But 					he got it. He knowed what it was all about. See? And
that was what to him? 				Showing him, confirming to him that the Holy
Spirit was revealing to me what 				was on his mind. You see? I didn't
have to tell it to the rest of them. The man's 				listening at me right
now. Now, that's right. Now, you see how that is? That's 				a
confirmation.

[35] 	Now, if the whole church would work in harmony like that...

27.	 Now, you see, the harmony right there is helping the individual to
get help, and not trying to be impressive to anybody else. See, that's
why I said, "If you don't go in that room with the proper spirit, forget
it. 

		...taking up serpents, drinking deadly things, all kinds of things
going on. 					But when you try to force that to individuals, then you
get yourself... That's 				Pentecostal again. Then you get Babylon,
confusion. (You know that you 					were heathen carried away into
orgies. See?) You can't judge that. See? 					Our hearts are full of joy
and happiness, oh, my, the birds are singing, 					Everything's
wonderful, my, just full of the Spirit of God, and we're in love 			
with Jesus, we want to pray all night. Now, I wouldn't embarrass this
crowd, 				or even myself to you. But I wonder, if I could ask this
morning which one in 				this crowd, or this people that had the Holy
Ghost, it'd probably be ninety-five 				percent of you raise your hands
that you had the Holy Ghost. Then I'll turn 				around and give you a
Bible evidence--just one--a Bible evidence; and I doubt 				whether
there'd be one or two hands go up. See? Just could--just tie it in such 
			a place, but when you do that you're also hurting your congregation.
But 					you've got to get them out of that babyhood and get them into
manhood. See?

28.	Now, practicing gifts. Is he talking about practicing gifts, he's
talking about understanding gifts. 

[36] 	Like someone wrote the question the other day, was up here, said
something 				about Brother Junior Jackson. Somebody went down there,
and said, "You're 				going down to the 'dead beans,'" (dead birds, I
think, not dead beans) or some-				thing like that. Brother Jackson...
Because Brother Jackson's congregation, 				they let them speak with
tongues just in the church. Wherever they feel the 					Spirit and want
to speak in tongues, they just go ahead and do it. Well, that's 			
Brother Jackson's church. That's perfectly all right. I've got nothing
against 				that, not a thing. Junior Jackson's one of my best friends,
and a real godly 					man, filled with the Holy Ghost... we're brothers.
Now, [end of side] he don't 				have to eat my cherry pie, I can... Or I
don't 	have to eat his apple pie (See?), 				but we're both eating pie.
We both believe this Message exactly. That's 					the order of the
church. I said, "I want my church to try to come together					..." I
said... When we begin to break out here, the Holy Spirit speaking 				
in tongues and so forth, I said... Somebody asked me, and said, "Now, 		
		Brother Branham, is all that genuine?"

[37]	 I said, "I'm no judge." I said, "Tell you what, let's bring it to
a spot. Let it 					go awhile and bring it to the spot until the Word is
presented on it. Then 					watch it. If It's the Holy Spirit, It copes
right with the Word; if it doesn't, 					it won't." 

29.	Now, here's the thing we got to understand though, coping with the
Word doesn't throw the gifts out. So, that's great I can shuck them off.
 I always wanted to get rid of those things. No siree, I show you in
Scripture, just as long as there's a Bride here, you're going to have
those gifts. It's got to know what to do with it. Let's get it down to
where they're not gifts or simply manifestations for us. They are gifts,
but let's talk about it being a true manifestation. Then you see, when
you talk about that, then you can go to God backing His Word up, which
is simpler and better. But it'll come out the same. Really, (you  know)
like Bro. Branham said, "If I call it foreordination instead of
election, you'll take that, what's the difference." I can call a banana
an orange, doesn't make any difference once you get the banana. So, it's
going to be something that the Holy Spirit is doing, (See?)   

[38] 	Now, in this speaking in tongues and so forth, I wish every one of
you spoke 				in tongues. I sure do. And many times, good
Christians...You see, if I tell you 				that was on the program... I
found someone--not program, excuse me--on the 				interviews this
morning. A person (I guess they're still here in the building.) 				that
they... About speaking with tongues... The person is a genuine person, a
				real person, and they've lived right. And they've heard me say the
evidence 				of the Holy Ghost wasn't speaking in tongues--and it
isn't--but I advised that 				person to ask God to let them either speak
in tongues or prophesy, because 				it's the nature.

30.  Now, many times on the tape Bro. Branham would say this person
wants to receive the Holy Ghost, but is a little fearful needs their
faith bolstered, or let that person speak in tongues. Now, it's not
wrong  to do that. That would be a private thing between you and God
someplace. (See?)

[39] 	The first thing, I went to that person and found their birthplace,
and what 					sign that they were born under, and could tell what their
birth was. Which 					way it set in their natural nature sets them in a
certain line. Then, when they're 				reborned again, they're over here
in another nature. And then, when you find 				into this nature, that's
the inside, in-conscience, inside conscience... The outside 			
conscience moves you in one way; that's your natural birth. Then they'll
make 				up something and it puts them what? Under a four, and puts them
in a split 				condition. They don't know what to do. They'll say, "The
Lord wants me to do 				this.

	Now, Bro. Branham speaking of the natural person, because he's got
natural inclination. He's a human being, but he's under certain areas in
his life what we call 'birth-path', and you can call it 'astrology'
anything you want to call it, the 'cycles', your 'biorhythm', anything
you want to call in there that person's nature. Actually will make him
susceptible to a certain thing, even in the spiritual, which if he were
otherwise he would not be susceptible to that.

31.	Just like if a person is a prophet, he's born a prophet. A person is
a teacher, he's born a teacher. A pastor, born a pastor. There's certain
things in there you're born with. And if you try to force it, or get out
of line you just hurt yourself. So, he had to go and find out what this
person was like naturally, so that he could harmonize the spiritual with
the natural. That's why…don't ever ask me to pastor, forget it. If I
were to quit preaching tomorrow I can tell you one thing, I'd quit it
period.  Because I wouldn't pastor. I wouldn't mind being sometime if
the Lord ever made me go someplace, once again to just see what happens
if anybody would come in. It would be alright, but forever pastoring,
forget it. I could play a tape the odd time, preach or some, you're on
your own. I'm as unsuited in that as…You say, "Couldn't you do it at
all?" Nope, I wouldn't do it at all. I'm not called to do it. There's
just no use trying to make my thumb do what my little finger does,
neither one seem to be too hot. None of them seem too great even
together. But I sure like my thumb and little finger just the way they
are. (See?) 

32.	Now, 

		"The inside, "Oh, I just know it's to line up with the Scripture." And
they'll 					start to do it, and the first thing you know, Satan on this
outside will show 					them all kinds of defects in it. And then they
say, "Well, I guess..." See? 					They listen to Satan. You've got to
take that inside something, that what's 					on the inside of you that's
Scriptural. And don't let Satan stand anywhere. 					It's his duty to
stand there and pound at you like that. But don't you listen...

	In other words there's a conflict in the human life. And we're apt
because of conflicts to listen to Satan and get pulled away.

		But that person I told them. They said, "Well now, if I could be sure
of					 having the Holy Ghost." See? A dandy person, real loyal person
with 					the Holy Ghost, but it would be good for her to say, "Father,
just give me 					this for something to stand on." (See, talking about,
she wanted something 				necessary, a little extra.)

[40] 	Now, if I taught it like that, people would reach out and get
ahold of that 					without having what that person's got? 

	Now, everybody, maybe everyone sitting here this after...?...  "That's
sounds great, now maybe I'll ask the Lord to let me prophesy or let me
do something and that will let me know that I got the Holy Ghost." And
Bro. Branham said, "That's exactly wrong." You see, well how could he
say to that person? Well that's up to the prophet, that's between him
and God.

33.	Now if talk like that, see now:  

		The Holy Ghost does speak with tongues, but you got to have the Holy
Ghost 				first before It can speak with tongues. Now you get it? So, if
you reach out 					and get ahold of a gift of speaking in tongues
without...(now he ends it) Now 				remember, that can be a genuine gift;
(in other words, you can have gift with-				out the baptism with the
Holy Ghost, genuine gift) that could be the Holy 					Ghost speaking in
you with unknown tongues, and you'd be lost and go to hell. 				The
Bible said so. You believe that? Would you like to have Scripture on it?
				You want Scripture; raise your hand. "Though I speak with tongues as
men 				and angels (is that right? Both the one that can be interpreted
and that cannot 				be interpreted, genuine Holy Ghost tongues), I am
nothing." See, unless that 				other goes with it. You can have this, so
don't reach after that without this. 				(In other words, don't reach
out for a gift, without the Holy Spirit first.) 					Get this first, the
Holy spirit and then that'll actually follow it. (Providing 					it's
your nature, and providing you're set in that place for it.)

	What if everybody against their nature just got talking in tongues, or
try to prophesy?	How in the world could the work of the Holy Spirit ever
get ahead? (See?) So, it's a fallacy to ever teach, which was the Joe
Stiles method. And Joe Stiles said, "Look, the Bible said, 'I would that
you all spake with tongues'." Wonderful, let's all talk in tongues. Then
Joe Stiles said, "But also the Bible said, 'Who speaks in tongues should
have prayed and interpret'." Everybody can interpret.

34.	But the Bible also said, "The prophecy is greater, so we'll all
prophesy." Now, that's exactly what Joe Stiles taught. The minute I
heard him teaching I told my good buddy Freddy Dobson, I said, "Freddy,
(I said…I wasn't preaching myself at that time I'd gone to work, I
said,) look, (I said) Freddy, there's something rings a bell, and
something doesn't ring a bell, there's something wrong somewhere."  And
I saw that thing grow. And I went back in the ministry within two years,
and I saw that thing grow and I myself was discerning and all, and I
fought it. I said, "There's something wrong somewhere, it doesn't ring a
bell." This Message rings a bell, nothing else rings.

	You say, "Bro. Vayle, you've authority?" Yep! I'm an authority on that,
I've been through it. I'm authority within my own self on this subject,
I have been through it. And I've watched it. And I've seen where it's
all gone. And I watched the prophet, and I saw where that went. And
believe me they are apart as the polls are a part. Don't ever think that
you can ever get to the North Pole and the South Pole together, you're
not going to do it.

35.	Now remember, it can be a genuine gift.

[41] 	Now, the rain falls on the just and the unjust. The sun shines on
the wicked	 				and the good. The rain falls to ripen the crop; (you
know that?)

	The rain falls to ripen the crop. Did you ever see the nice rain come
and the crop turn to goldie brown? It's pretty, I saw it. This year I
saw it out of a window up over there in Covington, it was very nice,
farmer's crop there and I was glad to be home. I could see the crop
coming every day, and I was just thrilled to see the crop coming up. And
I'd see the rain would come and the crop get better. And pretty soon a
rain came and the crop started to turn gold. It's pretty than ever. The
rain just made it turn to gold. Then I saw those weeds as the same time
as the crop started to turn to gold, my those weeds got so green, and so
luscious, oh they were just spreading over the whole place.  

	And I said, "Whoopee,  another evidence, look it right there, what's
going on in the world." When we're starting to ripen up toward God, the
tares are bigger than ever on the same rain. And then it wasn't too long
afterward, about time for the crop to be taken off, I turned around and
here those weeds were all in beautiful white hair now, ...?... they're
right there for the binding, and the thrashing. I'm going to tell you
something, they got separated too. 

36.	Now:

		The sun shines on the wicked and the good. The rain falls to ripen the
crop; 				ripens the weed also: the same rain. The Holy Spirit can fall
in a group of 					people, and speak in tongues, and make it exactly
true, sprawl in amongst 					the people, make it prophesy, and be
exactly true. That's exactly right. 					Sometimes you can go to a witch
or a medium, and they can say something 				exactly right. Look at the
witch of Endor.  It could be exactly true; that still 				isn't it.
They're witches. Speaking in tongues, I've seen devils speak in tongues,
				and write in unknown tongues. That don't mean anything. But the real
thing				 is that Word again. Back to that Word. (And that is the
truth.) So you can 					do these things without the Word. But when you
get the Word, and It does 					it, then watch it just exactly come to
pass, exactly the right thing. See? 					Then you're exactly in line.

[42] 	Yes, the Holy Spirit uses these people as it's appointed by His
own Divine 					wisdom. (That's what he got right over here) But the
first thing...Now, what? 				Let me just give you a little twister here
just a minute. I'd say, "How many 					has the Holy Ghost?" All of you
raise up your hand. I'd say, "All right, I'll 					see if you have." The
Bible said that they that had the Holy Ghost they 					sighed and cried
day and night for the abominations done in the city. Now, 				how many
hands would go up? 

	Well, I think quite a few amongst us would. In my own personal life
I've often threaten if the Lord doesn't pull the pin, I'm going to.
[Bro. Vayle chuckles]  You know, Luther was the same way. Luther said he
can't understand how God puts up with it. If he was God, he'd just
destroy the whole thing. That was back in the first stage of the
reformation. Things were just shaping up to get bad. Wait until I preach
on sometime and show you how bad things really are, and how it is
working out. You wonder why certain things are going on, and you tear
your hair on what's going on. I'll tell you what's going on, and why
what's going on. But I'm not ready, right ready for that little message,
simple as ABC, it's all there.  

 		How many of you can't rest at night, so full of joy and the power of
God, 					and so sad for the people that's lost, that day and night you
weep and cry 					for the abominations? You won't... See? Who would be
that in the city? 					How many of that's in the church? That's what the
Bible said the Holy 					Spirit evidence was. 

37.	 That was back in Ezekiel, those that had the inkhorn mark, they
were sighing and crying. And they just couldn't stand it, ...?...
righteous Lot, vexed his soul day by day in that city. (See?) Bro.
Branham called this a pest house. 

[43] 	He told the sealing Angels (Ezekiel 9, that's right), He said,
"Take... Go					through the city and set a mark upon those who sigh and
cry for the 					abominations did in the city. The rest of them, let the
destroying Angel 					destroy them." 

	Now, you hit that brother/sister with the evidence of the Holy Ghost,
Bro. Branham's right on line. Because the people that get taken out of
here are the sealed in ones. My understanding is that death hits, and
that's it.  

		No matter how much members they was and how many of the things they 		
		done. Now, put a man with a ink horn dressed in white (which
represented 				the Holy Spirit) came forth and put a mark upon all them
that sighed and 					cried for the abominations done in the city. Now,
you say... And watch what 				he said in there also. "slay utterly,
little children, old women, babies, kill 					them all." Little
children? Yes. When Joshua entered the land of Canaan, he 				said,
"Don't you let one of them live. If it's a cute little baby, a little
Amalekite, 				or a Amorite, kill it. You remember, he'll grow up to be
an Amalekite; he'll 				pollute the camp." And when these little things
come back like that disagreeing 				with the Word of God, get rid of
that thing. I don't care what denomination it 				belongs to.

38.	Now, you see he's very nicely come along commending Bro. Jackson,
but at the same time putting the thing in order.

		You say, "Well, they're good..." I don't care how good a people they
are. 					(Watch that one) If they're contrary to that Word, get the
thing out of you. 					It's a growing little Amalekite. Looks cute,
looks innocent; it looks like it's 					all right, but you don't have
anything to do with it. You stay away from it.	

	Now, he's talking about gifts, right? And the church discipline the
whole thing.

		"Well, Brother Branham, I--I go down here, because... Well, I
don't..." 					You just remember, any Amalekite, anything that denies
the Word, stay 					away from it; have nothing to do with it at all. How
many believes that's 					the truth? Sure... See? Stay away from it.

[44] 	Who sigh and cry for the abominations that's did in the city...
Where do you 				see that? I can show you ten thousand speaking in
tongues to one that's really 				burdened for sin...can't even pray a
hour. But did you know the Bible said that 				mark only those who
sighed and cried for the abominations in the city? How 				many ever
read it? Sure. That was the Holy Spirit come forth to mark the 				
people, and said to the destroying Angel, "...destroy everything that
doesn't 				have that mark...." And the mark of God is the Holy Ghost;
There's a Seal of 				God. Now, where is them people that's that
interested? I can show you people 				that jump up-and-down and cry in a
church; I can show you people that shout 				and run all over the
building; I can show you people that prophesy, and it 					come to pass;
I can show you those who speak in tongues, and run up and 					down the
buildings, and say things that actually interpret and it comes to pass; 
			but where is that person that sighs and cries for the abominations
that's did in 				the city? Where's that burdened soul? You could turn
some new leaves on that. 				See what I mean?  

[45] 	Now, I've tried my best to tell you people and lead you like a
daddy would 					lead his children. You're my children; I have begotten
you to Christ through 				this Gospel that I preach. See? Like Paul. And
I want you to raise up fully 					matured kids, or children. And I want
to present you to Christ that day, as 					Paul said, "A chaste virgin."
There isn't a thing in that Word but your heart 				will punctuate
"amen" to it. (That's if you've got the Holy Ghost) Sin don't 				
have... 'Course you'll do things wrong, but when the other, the very
first thing 				condemns you, "Father, forgive me."

39.	Now, what about them people who practice gifts entirely apart, and
say, "Well, it's a gift." You see, it's just not right. There's got to
be a proper order. Not that we're are worried about gifts here, but
remember, there are genuine gifts just the same.

[46] 	I'm going to say this. Just looked at a person a few minutes ago.
He was 					asking me about a fine boy the other day. We were hunting
squirrels. That 					morning I got five; I left one of them for that
afternoon. You only get six 					in the state of Kentucky; that's the
limit. So this certain person said, "I got 					nine." Fine Christian
boy. I said, "You done wrong."  He said, "Well..."

		I said, "I had five that morning, saved one for that afternoon. And
when I 					got that one squirrel, looked in a tree, and counted five or
six setting right 					there where I could look at them, walked out and
left them." I said, "I walked 				up in through here not long ago, and
there was about fifteen or twenty setting 				there. I just took the
limit, and walked away, and left the rest of them sit there." 				(I
said,) "If I come to this country, preaching to you boys and you people
here 				the thing that's right, I've got to live that example."
Christianity ain't what 					you say; it's what you live, what you do;
it's an example. You're the salt of 					the earth. I said, "Then, the
law says... Jesus said, 'You give Caesar them 					things that belong to
Caesar.' You break that speed law out there, what are 				you doing?
You're doing wrong; you sin. Give Caesar what's Caesar's, and 				God's
what's God's."

40.		"Well, the law's wrong." I can't help what wrong with it; it's
wrong to break 				Jesus' commandment. And if you don't give Caesar the
things that's Caesar's, 				then you did what Jesus told you not to do,
and a transgression of the law 					is sin. That right? We're all
guilty; we do it. But when you see yourself wrong, 				stop it. People
are watching you; people won't go to church, but they'll read 				you,
see what you do.

[47] 	So get Christ in your heart; that's a real... Christ and the Holy
Spirit's the 					same thing. Holy Spirit, "Christ" means "the anointed
One." The Holy 					Spirit is that Anointing, and you are the one that's
anointed. See? And it's 					Christ in you anointing you. See what I
mean? Then you got the right thing. 				Then He can use you to anything
He wants to use you in, 'cause you're in 					the body and subject to
any of those gifts. But see, to have one of the gifts 					outside of
the body, it would do you no good. 

	It's got to stay within the body where it's under the jurisdiction of
the Holy Spirit.

		"Though I speak with tongues of men and Angels, have not love, it
profit 					me nothing. Though I have faith and can understand all the
mysteries...					profit's nothing.  I give my body to sacrifice, give
all my goods to the poor, 				though I have faith to move a mountain, I
am nothing." See? Don't depend 				on those things. The Holy Spirit is a
Being; It's God, God in you, the Person, 				God, that's lit your whole
entire being. You're changed; you're a new creature. 				Any little
thing that's wrong, He'll tell you that's wrong, then quit; don't do it.
				"Father, I didn't mean to do that, You forgive me." See? And that's
the Holy 				Spirit.

41.	 That's what I was saying this morning, your union with Almighty God
is what actually took place. You are not a perfect individual, except in
Him. And we are striving to grow up into Him. (See?) That's the part of
coming up into a maturity.

[48] 	I don't care how much you spoke in tongues, how much you run, how
much 				you jumped, how much you did this, that, or the other Whatever
you done,					it wouldn't mean a thing if the Holy Ghost wasn't in there
to condemn you 					on the things that's right and wrong. 

	That's exactly right, How can a person be full of the Holy Ghost and
bypass the very Word of God that's right here in chapter 12 in the
Pentecostal and the Charismatic churches, and then say they're free? 
Like I talked to a girl in 'The Donut' when I was eating donuts back
there several months ago. I had one the other day, but I slipped up, I
could see my wife drooling as he went by, I just couldn't... I didn't
have the heart to take her by. As bad as I can our granddaughter
Vickier(?) we used to call her 'Vicky' back then when little Mary, she'd
say, "Oh, cuppie, cuppie, cuppie." Well, I liked coffee, so I'd go in
for the coffee. Didn't have the heart to go by, but we entered this
donut house anyway, this girl was strictly for the charismatic's and she
had all the answers with a woman prophetess as preacher.

	When I found that out, I finished my coffee and my donut. It wasn't
that I wasn't back, I was back the other day and had one cup of coffee
and part a donut. But you see, you can't talk to those people. You know
they're living in sin. They say they got the Holy Ghost and they don't.
They couldn't have. See, just couldn't have. I don't care what anybody
says. Well you say, "There's a manifestation." I don't care if it is.
It's a gift, because a woman's condemned for preaching.  See, I mean I
care not what anybody says. A woman cuts her hair, she can't pray. Now,
she can get a lot of answers, but in the economy of God she's shot,
she's outside of the Bride. And the thing is, she will answer to God for
having got answers.   

	"Because many will come in that day and say, 'Lord, didn't I cast out
devils', didn't I preach…?" [Mt 7:22]  "I never knew you, get out of
here?"  And greater condemnation. …?... It's a serious thing you see.
Just say forgive me, I don't know, I don't care much for …?... and so
on.  

42.		Now, that's the reason this person here is right. Let the Holy
Spirit do it. 					But now (You see?), now, what's causing this... Let
me say it with love, 					sprinkled with love and anointed with the
Word. See? If the genuine Holy 					Spirit was in you, you wouldn't
question that. You know it yourself; it's an 					individual thing
between you and God. See? You know something happened. 				You know that
there's a change, whether there's any--anything else, you 					yourself,
you're the change

	Now, you see, look, always I take you right back to this verse here
that I always read here concerning the Holy Spirit baptism. "But he that
is spiritual judges all things, yet he himself is judged of no man." [1
Cor 2:15] That verse is hard for me to accept. I cannot accept It carte
blanche and neither did Bro. Branham. Because that verse tells you even
though nobody can judge you, you have got to sit there for yourself and
judge. And if the line is not towed we do not put anybody out, because
we put nobody in, but it is so difficult I don't understand. Maybe it's
my nature. Maybe because I teach very, very hard in subjects, and I have
become very dogmatic on many things Bro. Branham said, because it's a
matter of dogmatics. Well, it's a dogmatic doctrine I should say to put
it correctly. But you see, everything he says always lines with the
Scripture.  

		You're the one who's done the changing, inside of you, and you know
you 					have it. Whether you spoke with tongues, whether you jumped,
shouted, or 					anything else, you know that God lives in you, (see?)
that you don't walk 					with your own mind, it's the mind of Christ
that leads you with that Word, 					just exactly the way It goes.

[49]	Now. But I would... If people say, "Well then, Brother Branham, you
don't 					believe we ought to speak with tongues?" See? Then you get
exactly backwards 				what I've just said. Sure, I believe you should
speak with tongues. And some 				of you people... See? But you get
these, and I get these, like back here this 					fifteen hundred miles
(See?)...

 	That's where he spoke about the New Jerusalem, you know being fifteen
hundred miles square, and they thought he meant that It would be
at...because he placed It like Jeffersonville's is fifteen hundred miles
on the east coast, and so on, they tried to place It there, see? 

		...being here at the Tabernacle. Just, if you don't understand it,
then ask me. 				See? Write it back to me if you don't understand. Just
say what I say here. 					See? And I... And you... As Paul said, "You
follow me as I follow Christ." 					See? Then you see I'm wrong, then
get away from me (That's all), 'cause 					I'd--I'd be the wrong person.


43.  Now, you say, "How are you going to know if a man's wrong?" Take
the Word and find out. So, that's what we're looking here that Paul was
saying, "Look, you people are wrong." Now, he didn't say you had a
devil, but they were mixed up. And there were no doubt people right in
there that were in gift ministries, the ministries of which could have
been genuine, and the person completely phony, or a phony ministry with
a phony person. And as well as those places where everything went. And
they didn’t bring it back to the Word.

	Now, this is why Bro. Branham said, "We need discerning of spirits."
Now, many people want to push gifts and push gifts. That's what we had
from this brother in Canada. Everything is pushing gifts, pushing gifts,
nothing has ever come out of his room yet. I'm not against pushing
gifts, you do it the right way. But if you get people in bondage to
where something has got to happen in that room, what if it doesn't
happen in that room?"

	I'm going to tell you. Here's exactly what Scripture says. "If the foot
shall say, Because I am not the hand, I am not the body; is therefore
not of the body?" [1 Cor 12:15] 

44.	In other words, this fellow and his wife won't go into that room.
"Oh, we don't need that  (they say) we've got our ministries. Now, you
people go in." The last report I got the woman was so sure she was right
about this fellow being right, (that she defied my good buddy Bro.
Palberg  was a real saint of God) she's so nervous now she doesn't know
if she's put her horse back. 

	Now, she is coming to the place where she will deny the faith, of a
nervous breakdown. Now, you see if you're going start forcing issues
that you've got to produce something, so that you will look like
something, you're in danger. Now, I didn't push anything back years ago,
but I'm going to tell you something: the gift ministry sure made me
popular around those who want gift ministries. But the minute I went to
Covington, and I said to all the group that came out of the way and the
rest of them, I said, "If you think I'm going to come here with gift
ministries, you're wrong, I'm going to sit here and see what God can do,
or what God will do; and if God doesn't do it, ain't nothing going to be
done."

	Well, the scurried like, you know, the rat leaving the ship. It was
going down, I was the sinking ship. And so one guy prophesied and tried
to cut my throat. "Let it be, let it be, he's a liar." They'll all
answer with their foolishness, because I stood right there and it was
that very thing that brought about this message in that area, and in
through here too. You cannot fool with the things of God brother/sister.

	As Bro. Branham said, "Be certain of God." He meant to be certain. This
is not something you see in the Scripture and say, "I think I will have
it."

	And someone says, "Why yes, you can have it."

	When did you get somebody between you and God? There's only one person
could ever do that, and that would be a prophet, a genuine prophet. And
you better not try to use him. (See?) Because we haven't got enough to
go around. Now, the discerning of spirits is very, very essential.

45.	 Now, reading again those first three verses. [1 Corinthians 12:]

		(1) 	Now (brethren) concerning spiritual gifts, brethren, I would not
have 					you ignorant. (The charismata, these manifestations) 

		(2)	(I) know that (you) were Gentiles, carried away unto these dumb 		
			idols, …

	I want you to clear conception that you know when you were heathen, you
used to be swept along by the impulse and that word lead is blinding
hurting, or carried, you Gentiles you were carried, blindly hurried.

	In other words, this meeting here was under the spirit of rush, and
blinding rushing like sheep over a cliff. Now, read It that way. Read It
that way. "That this is a blind bunch of people rushing." Now, when
you're rushing, you don't know where you're going. When you're blind,
you can't see where you're going. Then, this is what is what the
Charismatic Movement of that hour was. the Charismatic Movement is the
same, because they're blindly rushing into the complete bondage of Satan
and don't know Hebrews 6. (See?)

46.	Now, we're getting somewhere, we'll have Bro. Branham preach 'The
False Anointing Ones'. Dumb idols. Now certainly, like spirit worship.
But you know something? God begin answering back. When God begin
answering back they all are fooled, "Well, this is God, it's okay."

	Like that buddy up there in Toronto I told you about, after I got
through preaching sermon number one in Toronto, he said, "You know Bro.
Vayle (he said) I was saved in Pentecost twenty four years ago, but (he
said) they've changed." And he said, "I've changed, I can't accept what
the used to teach." He said, "I sat with some charismatic nuns and I
said, 'how can you say that you're priest has the Holy Ghost speaking in
tongues when on Sunday morning he will take confessions and it's against
the Word of Almighty God to stand there and forgive people's sins only
God can do it?"' He said, "They don’t have the Holy Ghost."

	Jacqueline Ford up in Chicago, she's a Catholic theologian with Mr.
O'Connor. Mr. O'Connor said, "My (he said) maybe you'll wonder how the
Holy Spirit feels in the Roman Catholic church? Why He feels right at
home."  I kind of doubt that. Something like a mouse caught in a trap if
you ask me. I don't know, but he's got to do his job. The Spirit of God.

	And Jacqueline Ford  let the people know, "Don't push me on my
doctrine." In other word, as a representative for the pope. She's true,
there is a representative in every age, and he is the pope so to speak,
the last one is William Branham. (See?) There is one that's the Holy
Ghost incarnated to bring the Word. Even as you and I are incarnations.
(See?) 

47.	Now, they were actually then in a place where the devil could slip
in here. And there was confusion. There is no parallel between these
frenzies and the breathings of the Spirit. Born again person, much
different.  I must impress upon you the One who speaks wrapped in the
Spirit of God and cannot cry, "Jesus is accursed." The other hand, no
one wrapped in a rapture can say, "Jesus is the Lord." They'd be
possessed by the Spirit. In other words, there was crying's out there,
and there was actually literally a fight on the floor. Someone was
running down Jesus the same time somebody upholding Jesus.  Just like I
said when Dr. Cliff  that man's meeting, I think it was likely Bro.
Smith, I'm not sure. Five languages, three speaking beautiful things
about God, two cursing God. How would you know? (See?) First of all
you'd know something was wrong if they did not accept Paul's negative
pronouncements in this Scripture here, the same as Bro. Branham brought
forth.   

	Now, going to verse 4, [1 Corinthians 12:]

		(4) 	…there are diversities… (or distributions. Now, he said,
"There are 					distributions of the charismata of the things that lie
in the Spirit, but 					It is one Spirit.")

	Now notice, we have got a Trinitarian concept today, but there's only
one Spirit. How can you have a Father and a Holy Ghost in a Son? "In the
name of the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost." Well, that's three of
them, makes a triangle. Very convenient, that's Babylonism. 

48.	 All right, we know there's only one Spirit. So, therefore now we
have the Father and the Son. Hold it, the Son is not God, He's a man.
Now we got one Spirit. (See?) So here, they already were confused that
there was more than one Spirit. And Paul seeing the day that even this
would be superseded by something more insidious said they would preach
another spirit. Two of them. And they try to make Jesus God. Jesus is
not God. No sir. 

	The man is not God, He's sitting up there behind the Throne on the
Mercy Seat. What's on the Throne is the Pillar of Fire, that's what John
saw, let's leave It there. On the right hand behind the Throne is Jesus.
And as long as He is there people can come in. The minute He's off and
gone, nobody comes in. (See?) Then He's got to turn to the Jews. Then
He'll appear to them in a sign, they'll come in.

49.	Now, one Spirit can be all kinds of distributions, (various kinds)
same Spirit, not a plural. Look at verse 12 and 14. 

		(12) 	For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the 					
members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also 						is
Christ.

		(13) 	For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body,…

	Now, everyone of those manifestations had a person, One Spirit doing
it. How in the world then could there be, if they're set in the body…
now, here's where Bro. Branham got in his fight, the woman stood up each
night and he could see her getting nervous. Billy Paul came in, he said,
"Now, this lady daddy, has told me she's got a prophecy for you
tonight." 

	So, Bro. Branham when he watched her he said, "Woman, shut up and sit
down." 

	Now, they said, "Now, Bro. Branham, you were wrong, you quenched the
Spirit." 

	He said, "How could I? How could I be in the Spirit preach, and her in
the Spirit jumping up before giving the altar call?" 

	"Oh, but she had fresh manna." Fresh what? Rotten hamburger in the
Pentecostal church. 

50.	Let me prove it to you, he's talking about gifts, and there's one
Spirit in apostles, prophets, teachers, evangelists, pastors,
discerning, miracles, everything else. Then how can a spirit fight the
spirit causing confusion?  Again, Bro. Branham preached this Bible in
Twentieth Century knowledge we can understand, but they turned it down
flat. (Right?) One Spirit, see? How in the world, how in the world can
you have a confusion?  How can you have the pastor up here preaching one
thing, and some woman running around saying something else in your
congregation?  "Well, I talked in tongues." (Phfft!) Talk in tongues all
you want. What God will  do is a whole lot worse than my 'raspberry' let
me tell you flat.  What I do brother/sister may be a little
disrespectful, but I'd sooner be in Lee Vayle's shoes giving a
raspberry, then run around with super critical, so call 'super
Christian'.  It's falling back on some Pentecostal idea. And thinking
some whoopty-doo is going to overlook the whole thing.

	There's only one place a man does not sin, and that's in obedience to
the Word of God, motivated by the Holy Ghost. Anything else is creeds
and dogmas in their own man made understanding.

51.	Now, he said right here:  

		(13) 	For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body…Jews or
Gentiles, 					bond or free; and have been made to drink one Spirit.

		(14) 	For the body is not one member, but many.

	And he tells you right there, the body has one life that goes to every
single person. And every little finger, every joint does something
different, but all making the one, the all of us in there. He hasn't
taken remember, nine gifts here, He put in a five-fold ministry through
in helps and governments and other things along with it. And he only
said one thing about the…miracles, and healings, and then he said
tongues, and he didn't put in prophecy, and left the rest out. But you
can Romans 12, brings out as Irenaeus said hundreds of gifts in the
body. They're all in there. One Spirit doing it. The harmony. You say,
"How are we going to have harmony? Is it preacher against the people?"
No! It's preacher and people with the Word. 

 	Got a church out west, a fellow keeps calling me, and this preacher
only wants one thing, is be subject to the church. Let me tell you flat,
there's nobody in this place subject to the church. You are subject to
the Word. It's the only place you're subject.  If I begin to try to
defend myself outside the Word, I'm wrong. You defend yourself outside
the Word, you're wrong.

52.	Now, verse 5. [1 Corinthians 12:]

		(5)	And there are differences of administrations…the same Lord.

	That means, 'different ministries', that's exactly what It says. All
right, verse 18.

		(18) 	But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, 
					as it hath pleased him.

	All right, no matter what they are, he put them there. Like Bro.
Branham said, now on the question: verse 6. 

		(6) 	…there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God
which 						worketh all in all.

	Notice, different distributions, they're diverse, one Spirit, every
ministries, one Spirit, different way they operate, Bro. Branham
explained it, according to nature even. One God, but it's for the good
of everybody. (See?) That's why Bro. Branham said, "Don't say Jesus is
coming soon, that's vain repetition." See, there's operation there, it's
got to be, it's got bring a blessing to the whole group, it's got to be
directed. When it's all over, the whole group is edified, though it's
pointed to one person as that time. Maybe more than one person, but it's
got to be where the whole group is more in harmony. Why? Because sin is
rooted out, unbelief is rooted out, all these things are taken care of. 

53.	Now, let's go to verse 19.

		(19) 	And if they were all one member, where were the body?

		(20) 	But now are they many members, yet but one body.

		(21) 	And the eye cannot say unto the hand, I have no need of (you):
the 						head to the feet, I have (got) no need of you.

		(22) 	Nay, much more those members of the body, which seem to be more 
				feeble, are necessary:

		(23) 	And those members of the body, which we think to be less
honourable, 					upon these we bestow more abundant honour; and our
uncomely parts 					have more abundant comeliness.

		(24) 	For our comely parts have no need: but God hath tempered the
body 					together, having given more abundant honour to that part which
						lacked.

		(25) 	That there should be no schism in the body;…(I'm going to stop
						right there.)

	Now, you see, I'm looking at the operations. The body operates
different parts, so do we operate in different ways. Verse 7.

		(7) 	But the manifestation of the Spirit is given to every man to
profit 						withal.

	And that manifestation of  the Spirit being seen to work through the
church for the common good.  Now the second part of verse 25,

		(25) 	…but that the members should have the same care one for
another.

		(26) 	And whether one member suffer, all suffer…(and) one member be 
					honoured, all the members rejoice…(common good.)

	Paul then numerates nine special gifts in verse 8 to10, and you can see
them there: wisdom, knowledge, faith, and notice every time same Spirit,
same Spirit. These people  had different spirits. And no doubt a voice
says, "I'm the spirit of wisdom. I'm the spirit of knowledge," right
through. 

54.	You know people right today read that: To what… I was to a church
in Dayton, I want to see some of these fellows down there, and there was
this black preacher, (nice fellow) and I went there and he begin saying,
"Oh yeah I believe the gift of the Spirit brother, because It said, "By
one is given the spirit of wisdom."

	I said, "No, brother, It doesn't say that. It says, "You are given by
the Spirit the word of wisdom," It's a spirit, but not spiritism."

	And he said, "Yes, (he said) the spirit of knowledge."

	I said, "It's not the spirit of knowledge." 

	And there some sweet black sisters they're having a little meeting. And
I think they're making little knitting or something, (you know) like
they should do, ladies aid. And my, you should have seen the look of
consternation. When they heard me telling their pastor off, they got
down on their knees and begin really screaming out to God.

	You know what, there's no use screaming to God, the man should have
listen to me. He couldn't even read the Bible right. That's not because
a black man is a black man who can't read. That's because the black man
could read and wouldn't read. There's a lot of white men in the same
boat. In fact, I think he got his doctrine from the white
latter-rainers. Because they're the ones that twisted this, and made
this the spirit of wisdom.  Now, I know such a thing as a spirit of
wisdom, that's in Ephesians. But you get over here with the spirit of
faith, or spirit of healing, It doesn't say that. It says, one Spirit
has all of it in there. (See?)  Now, they were way back there where they
had this thing in a complete muddle. 

 	Now, verses 28-30

		(28)	 And God hath set some in the church, apostles, prophets,
teachers, 					miracles,  healings, helps, governments, diversities of
tongues. (And 					so on.)

		(29) 	Are all apostles? are all prophets? are all teachers? are all
workers of 					miracles?

		(30)  	 (Do) all the gifts of healing? do all speak with tongues? do
all interpret?

	No sir, they don't, everyone has something different. So, Paul sets the
church in order, and then he hits verse 31.

		(31) 	But covet earnestly the best gifts: and yet shew I unto you a
more 						excellent way. (Now, period.) 

55.	Now, let's go to Hebrews 11: 

		(4) 	By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than 		
			Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous, God 					
testifying of his gifts: and by he being dead yet speaketh.

	Now, Abel had the more excellent way. Cain was right, he took the first
fruit offering and offered it and according to Scripture it's a correct
offering.  But he mis-divided the Word.

	Now, "I will show you, (said Paul) a more excellent way. The way of
gifts in order are great, (make no mistake about it) but he said there
is something greater that supersedes every single ministry. 

	[1Corinthians 13:] 

		(1) 	Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, and have 		
			not (love), I am (nothing, I'm) sounding brass, or a tinkling cymbal.

		(20 	…I have the gift of prophecy, understand all mysteries, and all
						knowledge; have all faith, (to move) mountains, and have not
(love), 					I am nothing.

		(3)	 (If I give) my goods to feed the poor, (now, notice in here, he's
						going back to Romans 12) …give my body to be burned, have not 		
			(love,) it (profits) nothing.

	All the way through, he's speaking of destinies of ministries.

		(4) 	(Love suffers) long, and is kind; charity envieth not; (or love) 
					vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,  

		(5) 	Doth not behave itself unseemly, (seeks) not her own, not easily 
					provoked, (thinks) no evil;

		(6) 	Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;

		(7) 	(Bears) all things, (believes) all things, (hopes) all things,
(endures) 					all things.

		(8)  	(Love) never (fails): (now notice)  whether there be prophecies,
						they shall fail; whether there be tongues, they shall cease;
whether 						there be knowledge, it shall vanish away.

		(9) 	For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.

		(10) 	But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in
part 						(is) done away.

		(11) 	When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child,
I 						thought as a child: became a man, I put away childish things.

		(12) 	For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face:
now 						I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.

	Now, here in verses 1 through 7, you'll find that gifts with motivation
of virtues are tremendous. They must be motivated by the virtues that
lie within us, that the Holy Spirit helps us to produce. Then in verses
8 and 9, he said here: "That love never fails… [tape ends…]
